Exotics R Awesome!
I was at a Swap Meet in Lucasville, Ohio where there was a female Black Squirrel and a female Chipmunk for sale. The lady promised me that they were captive born, she even gave me her Commercial Propagator Permit number. I've bought ferrets and little rodents from this lady before at a reptile show that goes on once a month here, and felt she was trustworthy. So I bought the Chipmunk & the Black Squirrel to add to my breeding program.
After having them for about a month, I'm really starting to think that these guys are wild caught. They are so afraid of me, everytime they see me they run into their nest boxes, and the black squirrel trys to scare me away by making noises and thrashing in her nest box. I do have a Siberian Chipmunk that was definatly captive born and he flees to his nest box when he see's me too, so maybe they just weren't socialized? I don't really want to take a chance and breed wild caught animals, plus I feel bad for them! So I'm looking for someone who can provide them a great life incase they are wildcaught. I don't want to set them free incase they are not, you know? I'd prefer someone with experience, who has a huge outdoor cage or something for the Black Squirrel and a big cage for the Chipmunk. I'd like them to have buddies if possible. I'm just asking what I paid for them as an adoption fee of $100 each. If your in Ohio you must have a permit. I'm willing to travel to get them into a great home.
