I have my own scaly children but a friend of mine came to me a little over a month ago and asked if I would be able to care for his Black Throat Monitor while he found a permanent home & could build an enclosure for him. Of course I said yes... How could I not?
The past month has been incredible, the monitor has gotten to know me and grow comfortable with me and use me as a jungle gym (and a toilet). I'm still getting to know him and he's still not 100% tame but I'm capable of hand feeding him, petting him while he's in his tank, helping him with some stuck shed, etc. His name is Leviathan, he's about 2 - 2 1/2 feet long at this point and is around a year old (a little under I believe).
He's a really fantastic animal and I wish I could afford one of my own, but jeez does he suck up money.
