In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Blazin, dude give it up. The posts speak for themselves, the logs and your replies as well. You say that he did not do as you asked, but in reality he was doing everything you ask without complain. But you screwed him by selling off his gecko and telling him he'd have to wait till next breeding season. And thus far we can all see that Jeff is a hardworking honest guy who was busting his balls for you, and with no reason to tamper with logs. You also state that you did not like the site and changes were not being made, the logs say otherwise. You would have salvaged your reputation had you not lied. But then again, you weren't expecting him to have 3 month old logs. Yeah, I think we all agree that you should ship him A gecko. Maybe just a normal or something, and he'll hand over what is done. And I'm sure nobody really gets what you mean by blackmail either... You screwed up by even replying to this thread... The thread had like 3 posts, and had sunk to the third page of BOI with barely any views. Now 3000 people have seen it, and most can now see you tried to scam him.

I think Jeff should complete the webpage to Chad's specifications and Chad should offer Jeff a gecko of Jeff's chosing regardless of market value. Nothing could improve the reputation of either party more than to both take the high road publically and proudly.

Jeff's reputation was never even harmed. In fact a few people on this thread have said they'd be going to him for business.

Well, if it counts for anything, Blazin was always cool in my book and I'd be happy to purchase one of his leopard geckos regardless of this mess.
I see why it was unfair to Jeff that he sold the leos Chad was interested in. But I don't see why Chad would still owe Jeff a leo if he's not even using the site that was designed for him.

I may be making a mistake by posting this to what appears to be a dead thread. However, had I been on the forum at the time of this taking place I would have posted to it then so I am going to now as well.
I have been building websites since 1992 I have been designing them (yes there is a differance) since 1995. As you can see it took me 3 years to learn how to design from the time I was building them.
Jeff is only building websites. Every example site that has been posted here in his defence is a simple template job. That is not a bad thing if you want a look-a-like site. However, in Chads case he wanted a site Designed (not built) for him. The "logs" Jeff posted make this very clear and he should have reconized his own limitations and bowed out of the deal at that point.
As to the value of a site that is all based on your location. When you are offering services online you are competing internationaly. For any of the exampe sites (never saw what you did for Chad as that link is dead as are a number of the links on Leo-Land.net) including leo-land.net I would personaly only charge $150 to $250 for them. Yet I also know very talented web builders in India that would only charge $50 to $150 for them. So I can fully understand why that would have been unacceptable to Chad.
In closing let me say I do not know Chad or Jeff. My main reason for posting this is because I hate to see:
1) People getting ripped off and over charged for web sites.
2) People raving about someones work when that work is obviously sub-standard. Jeff can't even keep from having broken links on his own site.

You tell him what you want, he makes an image of the site you desire in photoshop. He shows the image to you, and makes the changes you desire to the image. When it meets your approval he then cuts the image into pieces for tables and cells. Then he gives you the final result in an html page, a working web page. This what you mean?
All of his sites, except for generic templates he sells, are a custom job.

I am not sure how you can look at your site, that Jeff built, then look at Leo-Land.net and tell me yours is a custom DESIGNED site. I am sorry but I have done this way to long to believe that.

We both use postnuke, they ALL look the same. Just how postnuke is formatted.
Oh, and if I remember correctly, Blazin and Leo-Land have worked out their differences. This issue is gone.

Thank you for proving my point. Post-nuke is a PHP template based format. It was built for webmasters who wanted to do high volume work with out having to spend much time on indivedual sites. This is also why it has never caught on with true web designers as it has limited flexability.

If a website is 100% custom-made, it's made without the use of a template, which by definition is something that is NOT custom made.

Its just like when someone samples music for another song......the sampler didn't create the sample, they're just using it in a different way. Unless you created the template, you didn't customize the site. My site uses a template, therefore it was not customized.

my 2 cents...
i just want to say that i think leo-lands logo on HIS website is really awesome. i love it.
also just a piece of advice.... treat every website like your being paid a million dollars to design it. every piece of work you make represents you as a designer. alot of times in this industry we designers will do work for a bargained price or even for free just to get our names out there and show the world what we can do. there should be no difference between a site you got paid
$500 to design and $50 to design except for the fact that you agreed to design a great site for less money. please dont take this as an insult... im merely passing on some wisdom that was passed on to me. did i mention how cool your leo-land logo is....
oh one more thing...
never use the font PAPYRUS ever again in your designs. forget it even exsists...
you might want to visit THIS WEBSITE and download yourself some new fonts.
you do a good job in designing your websites... ecspecially if you ARE in high school.
thats all i have to say. keep up the good work.
