In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Please everyone don't fall for the "blue dragons" scam. I have seen a couple ads this week of young baby dragons being advertised as "blue" and costing $500.00 The blue/lavender that some babies display will not stay. It fades away over 4-6 weeks and is gone!!!

I'm not talking about the side bars that can sometimes be a purplish color. That usually remains but I'm talking about the blue that some newborn babies have out of the egg. I'll provide a pic of one of my babies showing the blue I am referring to. I hoped it would stay but it never does.

For $500.00 someone is going to get scammed in a big way. Don't let it be you.

That and the really overexposed pictures so the parents and babies look pure white. They are not, actually look at a picture and you won't get scammed. Those are some sad looking 1 day olds getting sold for 500$ too.
Haven't seen the 'blue dragon' thing yet, lol.

Are you referring to the pictures above? Those pictures are of a dragon that Mike produced.

I think Sara was referring to the overexposed pictures of the "white" or snow dragons being sold these days. I have seen many cases of that as well. There's nothing worse than opening a box expecting a "white" dragon and finding a dragon the color of sand. :ack2:

Yes, the ad on reptileclassifieds.com was a 'snow' being sold at a couple days old [you can sooo obviously tell, or he just wasn't feeding it]

Great pics mike!

It's either a lie or someone got scammed for $500 :hot:

Mike, is that on reptileclassifieds.com?

Oh, what is the website? I would like to e-mail them about their blue dragon. Heck, maybe we can ask Vicky why she does not sell any.

Oh. I'm sure I know the answer to why Vickie doesn't sell them but I'm sure she'll be able to give a quick answer here tomorrow.

Funny story, the first year I bred dragons I was all excited and called Vickie to tell her about my "lavender" dragons that just hatched. She got a pretty good laugh and told me to wait 4 weeks and call her back. Needless to say I never made that call because the blue/lavender was long gone............

Read this thread and you'll be able to find the link to the website I took the screen shot from. Link

I forgot the thread was so long. Here's a dirrect link to the site. Get scammed here

I saw the ads that Mike is referring to, and rolled on the floor, dying with laughter.

I can still remember our very first clutch of dragons hatching... and I called out to my hubby: "LOOK, they are light blue... (and grey, of course)!!! Neat!" We thought it was very odd, and tried to get pictures. By the time I figured out the macro feature and proper lighting - they had changed to "non-blue", normal beardies. We still get "blue" babies with some clutches...

Some people will try anything to rip off the public!

I am not in the know of who is who among beardie breeders, but I always thought that there was something weird about the Spokenlizardlady and the ads. Does almost everyone in this business rip people off? Is that why no one ever buys anything off Reptile auctions? The only 1 Ive bought on there was misrepresented and now I probably will never buy off there again. I just feel extremely lucky that when I was first looking to buy my first dragon I found Vicki and Rob. If I would have bought my first from 1 of the scum out there I probably would have not given the hobby a second chance. Charlie

Oh, I guess an e-mail would be worthless.

Many here are working to make it better. I know reptile auctions is trying hard to combat the scams as well.
There’re many great online breeders you just need to research. Ask questions, many are willing to help.

Ok I dont know alot of breeders on here but I KNOW DACHIU DRAGONS HAVE SOEM HIGH QUALITY DRAGONS..I dont know the people of Dachiu but r those their dragons they r selling or is it someone that has a dragon they bought from them and bred with one of thier own? I thought Dachiu was a good memeber on here?..IM LOST NOW!

Dachiu has absolutely NO association with the Spokanelizardlady. Vickie would have to verify this statement but to my knowledge any animals advertised by these wack jobs and being advertised as Dachiu is only because they are from Dachiu lines. You have to consider, Dachiu is one of the largest breeders in the contry. MANY breeders have Dachiu lines in house. You would be hard pressed to find a breeder who doesn't.

Vickie and Rob Dachiu are in my and many others opinion, the BEST dragon breeders in the country. I have bought many many dragons from them and have NEVER experienced a single problem.

Forgot to add this......

We all know they are great breeders but on a personal level they are great people as well. I have known Vickie for about 8 years and consider her one of my closest friends. If you ever have a dragon problem or any dragon issues or questions, pick up the phone and give her a call. She'll help you through it to the best of her abilities. It don't matter if you bought the dragon from her or not. That kind of professionalism is a rare find these days.

I know it sounds like I'm kissing Dachiu ass but that's not my point. I was just a bit shocked to see a post questioning Dachiu in this thread. I can understand why it happen though. Looking at the ad it does appear to be quite heavy with DACHIU all through it in cap letters.

Charlie,
You are not the only one to get ripped off with your first purchase of a reptile on a classified forum. Reptile Auctions is not the only place that Spokenlizardlady sells animals, either.

We all have stories about deals that turned into nightmares. For certain - hubby and I have had our share! :unhappy:

*sigh* Live & learn....
