    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I put my first pair of boas together this season and they just don't seem to be interested in each other. Does anybody have any good tips or things I can try to set the mood. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Allison

A little Barry White, perhaps? ;-)

More seriously, did you cycle them? Even if you did, it can take some time for courting to start -- one of my Brazilian pairs last year avoided each other for weeks before anything started to happen.

I wish I could offer more, but my area is rainbow boas, not their larger cousins....

Good luck!

I wish it was as easy as playing Barry White! How low should the temps go for cycling and for how long? Thanks for the help Cliff!

I'll have to defer to the species experts on that one, Allison. Brazilian Rainbow stats would probably not be too much help. ;-) Good luck though, I'm sure someone will weigh in soon!

I never have to cycle my boas, which is nice because it is easier and they are not subjected to lower temps that may bring on a URI. Snakes in general can be just like us, maybe she doesn't like him or it may be the other way around. Sometimes they just don't feel like it. Since I don't cool my snakes, things I have done to kinda give a pair a boost is to add a male in with them, take a shed skin from a known ovulating female and place it in the cage or just remove the male and place him back in a few days.

They were being flirty last night so that's a good sign. I'm going to leave them together for a couple more days and see what happens. Thanks for the input Jeremy!

Apparently I didn't need the Barry White, they are doing just fine on their own! lol This morning they finally locked up and not a moment too soon because I was starting to worry.

Good to hear, it seems like some take longer than others but just to Add, I have heard that misting helps although i didnt really need to use this trick yet. ;) Wish you the best this season!
