    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I saw a ghost het moonglow on your iherp but no hypermelanistic ghost...... is that the same animal you meant is the ghost het on your page?
 
No. Hyper means over or more, hypo means under or less. Ex: Hypos or hypomelanistics have less black pigment
 
a hypermel animal is almost completely black... that's why i was wondering... ALL ghosts are "hypos" a ghost is a hypo x anery...
 
Sorry had an unexpected trip out of town.

Yes by hypermelanistic ghost I mean he has excessive black, lots on his face and quite a bit along the normal patterns on his body. The neat thing about it is, since he is het albino is well, hopefully the pigmentation will transfer over to his albino or sunglow babies which would be sweet.

He seems to get a bit more black each shed. He also lightens and darkens the black depending on how warm he is. One of a kind animal that I would like to keep but have to get rid of all my snakes. He was purchased from Brown's Boas if you would like to get more info on him.

Have quite a few people interested that I have returned pm's to today. These are some great prices pm me if interested.

I know what melanistic means,
and I know what hypo means,

My point is that a 'hypermelanistic ghost' is in itself a contradiction. For one a melanistic animal would have more than normal black, a hypermelanistic is nearly solid black. But the 'hypo" part of the ghost negates that, right?

Do you know if he's a true ghost maybe he's just an anery?

Did you go look at it? That's a ghost and it is hyper mel. I've seen a few out there that look like that. Not for sale or even public display though.
