    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok my pair of boas have a huge size difference. I haven't even had them for a month but my male is growing and gaining weight but my female is just so small compared to him. The male isn't fat or anything like that and the female isn't skinny. The male was quite a bit bigger then the female when I got him. The were born april 13th so they aren't even a month old and he is roughly 24 inches and the female is roughly 20-21. They both eat on a weekly or sometimes every 5 days just depends. The male is just so much more thick. I am just wondering if my female is just off to a slow start. Should I feed her every 5 days? I mean the male is about double the weight. His body is bout 50% taller then hers. Dumb question guys but I'm just making sure nothing is wrong.

What you are seeing Kyle is normal. A lot of my hypos are different size. It all depends on when they started eating and how often. You will see a size difference in them from birth, but you will also be able to tell between the ones that started feeding right away and stayed consistent, compared to those that took awhile to start and may miss a meal occassionally. I wouldn't worry about it, keep them both on the same schedule. I feed all my babies once every 7 days, some of the smaller ones I will feed 2 hoppers instead of just one, but that is rarely done. Good luck!

By the way, it was no trouble to switch the Cali to f/t.

Kyle, don't be too surprised if she ends up getting bigger than him within a year. Don't be suprised if she does not, either! lol They will grow at their own pace. Just feed them consistently, keep fresh water nearby, make sure their temps are good and just enjoy watching them grow into beautiful adults!!

I've got an '08 that was half the size of some of my '09 hold-backs when I first got her. She's still no bigger than the '09's, but she has caught up to them and with her appetite will probably be bigger by the end of the year.

just like people, boas come in different sizes, some are just naturally bigger or smaller than their siblings. Also Jeremy made a good point about when they start feeding, some take over a month to start feeding and some eat the day they shed.

I would not feed every 5 days, IMO that is just way too often. I feed baby boas every 7-14 days (I keep all feeding scheduled varied, they get exercise when pacing for food instead of just sitting there eat/digest/eat/digest/etc).

Good luck,
-April
