In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

boaphile plastics is starting to piss me off....

FYI:

Ordered and paid for a Ball Room RhinoRaXX on 10/20/04 and it was delivered to my door on 11/24/04, 5 weeks to the day. I was notified when they received my order and when they shipped my order. I have no complaints and will continue to purchase from Boaphile. This might be a little off topic from the latest rantings but I'm commenting to some of the earlier posts.

p.s. This is a nice rack and should work out well.

I hadnt planned on posting on this thread, as Ive allready made it clear in other threads that I am a Boaphile supporter.

However just today I called Jeff to speak with him about a few things I had emailed him. He said "what emails".

Ive spent a good deal of cash with Jeff, and honestly consider him a friend, as much as a supplier. As such I truely believe he would have responded to my emails, had he recieved them.

I think his spam filter may be to sensitive, and boot emails it shouldnt otherwise. I honestly believe Jeff tries as hard as anyone in this business to provide quality customer service.

I recently purchased 5 rhino raxx from Jeff, and couldnt be happier with the product. I plan to buy many many more as I can afford them (and currently sadly I cant...lol). I paid 3-5 weeks prior to my picking them up at the Tinley show. To me this is standard procedure when purchaseing cages, so it was a non issue.

I guarantee Jeff is doing all he can to address the issues, and will continue to provide quality cages. In my opinion its worth the wait, or trouble to contact him. Once you get one, your hooked.

Just my 2 cents.

Boaphile Plastics

Hello Everybody,

I'm coming in a bit late on this thread, but want to share my experiences.... I researched all the Rack/Cage manufacturers for about a month before finally choosing to purchase from Boaphile Plastics; mainly because of the look/style, black color, construction and price.

To test the product, I purchased a 15-drawer RhinoRaXX, about a few months ago. It took about 4 weeks to arrive. I was very happy with it until the drawers started to get stuck! It turned out the problem was caused by me placing the rack on carpet (lesson learned). Jeff sent me out some strips to place under the rack, which helped but didn't fix the problem (some drawers were actually stuck shut, occupied). I then cut a piece of plywood and placed it under the rack, which had better results but still scraping drawers.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, Jeff sent me a completely new rack to replace the "bad" one, free of charge (with me shipping the original one back in the same box, at no cost to me).

I since ordered another 15-drawer RhinoRaXX and it's on its way to me now (have a tracking number); another 4 week (approx.) turn around. At the same time, I also ordered a complete 421D Cage Stack Combo (5 cages w/ pedestal), but this will take an extra 2 weeks due to backlog. When investing well over $2k on a product (including the double-thermostat and extras), it would be nice to receive it within a week or two, or month. But what can you do...

Now, recently I started noticing a drawer being stuck AGAIN, on the new RhinoRaXX. When I open/close the drawer it scrapes very loudly and isn't easy to open at all! I did notice that Jeff made some improvements with the new rack (more screws on the back to help hold up the shelves), which seemed to improve the setup/design, but I've still got another drawer scraping(!).

I informed Jeff about this again, but told him that I won't worry about it, as I don't want to send back ANOTHER rack. It's a real hassle having to switch 15 snakes into new enclosures; having to clean the rack (every drawer) to get rid of the plastic-material smell, setup each enclosure, screw on each knob to the drawers, etc. Has anyone else had problems with SCRAPING DRAWERS???

The only thing I can see that may be "causing" this nuisance is placing something on top of the rack, causing a "sag" in the shelf(?). I have a digital scale (approx. 3lbs) resting on top of the rack (right side) and that's the drawer that's scraping. So, not only should there be some kind of CAUTION posted on the website about not placing the racks on carpet, but also one for not placing any objects that weight more than 1lb on top of the rack.

Now, my experiences regarding Customer Service/Communication... there HAVE been emails and calls that went unanswered. Those times really did make me almost reconsider doing business with them, but I remained patient. When I questioned Jeff about them, he said he never got the emails/calls. If a spam blocker is the cause of this, it needs to go or be replaced. Regardless, something does need to be improved in this area.

So after ALL this, am I a supporter of Boaphile Plastics??? Honestly, yes. I really like their products best (Vision would be my second choice). However, improvements are needed. I also think that it's fair, for everybody, to hear true experiences. Hopefully it does some good, for potential customers and the company in question.

Can't wait until the rack/cages arrive!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Best regards,

well i sure hope my drawers dont start scraping cause i dont want to have to go through all the problems you had to go through just to get a decent rack.

I had a "problem" with boaphile as well...... If anyone remembers my thread they know what happend but I wil give the short version...... I did get my rack when they said it would be here but I did not get my thermostat with my order...... It arrived a week or two after the rack did..... The only problem I had with the situation was when I called and emailed them to let them know about the problem I never got a responce...... The only time I ever got a call back was when someone let them know that I started a thread here on the BOI....... I would however, do buisiness with them again because they were very nice about the situation and their products are some of the best in the hobby...... Boaphile will do right on the situation....... I feel that they are getting alittle too busy for the way they currently run their buisiness...... I think they need to find a way to take care of their customers quicker....... How can they do this???? Well there are many ways but most cost money...... They are great guys and I feel their product is worth the wait...... On the other hand, their customer service needs work.......

I have only dealth with them once and it was for a ranco thermostat. I ordered it via paypal, got email confirmation of my order and then tracking confirmation when it was sent out, and it arived fine, only annoyance was all the damn bubblewrap, but the kids next door had fun with it, lol.
I do not use boaphile cages, but heard you cant drop them cause the plastic will spliut/crack?
I recomend Amir Soleymanis aka Snakes at Sunset, Duro-Racks, they are made of PVC, light weight and not crackable unless dropped severely from a third story building, lol.
They are also easy to wash and come in tons of different formats....from 11 slots to arboreal 5 slots, to 51 slots, all with or without heat tape groves, or you can have them with heat cable groves, however you want.
He has half size racks for all the tupperwares needs you can have, and full size 5-6foot tall ones. Pretty neat cages, I dont use anything else besides visions for boas and freedom breeders.
Alot of the big breeders that are more commercial like gourmet rodent and the like bought hundreds of them....they also do not warp, and do not sag, or anything.......

It costs money to make money. Remember this, they are running the business on the customer's money...not Boaphile Plastics' money.

hey guys i received my boaphile rack on saturday and i was pleased with the way it looked and everything i havent had any problems yet also it came with a proexotics temgun so i was pretty stoked about that since i've been needing one.

It has now been four weeks since we placed our order with Boaphile plastics, we have yet to receive tracking, or our product.

I've emailed Joel and requested a tracking number dated TODAY, the 29th of November, or a full refund. Simple as that.
