In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Called them over the phone asking advice on fixing the top of a 322T that had been split open by an adult boa as well as getting replacement keys and it was like pulling teeth. He asked me to email my info and still no response.

Alan, post emails please? You have to realize that they are probably busy, so a timeline would help.

How long have you been waiting to hear back from them?
How soon after you purchased it did it brake?
Have they promised you a replacement, or did they not give you a strait yes or no?
Any and all info helps!
Hope you can get this worked out.

He asked me to email my info and still no response.
That part is kind of funny to me - unless he gave you a special email address - because emails sent to the address on his site get kicked to an autoresponse which instructs you to call them. I was going to place a 14 cage order a couple years ago, and I didn't because I couldn't get an email response. :shrug01: Preferences - sometimes they don't match up. (My reasons for not calling really have no bearing here...I'm not knocking his preference to do business by phone, just wondering about the request for an email reported by the OP. Maybe things have changed - it has been a couple of years)

I do not know i orderd a rack a few years ago and took almost 3 months to get thats why i buy my racks from another supplier and usually get it the same week i order it. Jeff has some nice boas though

I am looking into getting a stack of 4ft cages from them now so any information posted here will help me decide if I want to go through with it. Was there a reason it took 3 months to receive your rack?

I know that people love their boaphiles. I also know that the wait is very long. I think its because they are super busy, and maybe its still a smaller operation, instead of a full blown operation. Im not sure though. Ive gotten all my cages and rack from repti-racks and love them. The lead time is usually around 6-8 weeks. I dont think I could wait 12. But thats just because I am impatient and like all my setups here and organized.

Weird. Everything Ive always heard he prefers calls to email 100 to 1.

well I know Jeff gets really busy, especially this time of year (baby boa litters are hitting the ground left and right). I bought a 4 stack of boaphiles from him back in 2002, it was all done via email. One of them came in with a large crack on the top, he sent me out a new one right away without asking for proof (which I sent anyways) and I was very pleased with the service. Of course, that was just my one experience and it was a long time ago.

... Did this really require a bad guy thread?

How long have you been waiting?

Did you try calling back? I imagine that type of business is incredibly busy.

As stated. Post e-mails and such.

This should have been an info thread I agree, but it can't be changed and their reputaqtion speaks for itself.

You're right, Tyler. I'd elaborate further on it in general, but I'll refrain.

I still want to know if the OP ever tried calling them back. Or how long it has been.

There was a 3 foot Boaphile listed in the SF Bay area CraigsList with a busted top.......

Did you pick this used cage up and are asking how to fix it?

Or was this a cage you ordered and are trying to get it fixed?

Just curious...........

I have never had problems getting a hold of Jeff on the phone. Once he did not anwser but I called later and he did. I've bought multiple racks and a dozen cages from him without issues. I don't know about 3 month wait either. I've waited 7 before at the longest but he had posted his whole family had swine flu and it took 3 weeks or so to get thruogh that stuff.

I wait an average of 3 1/2 - 5 weeks, but unless you're not prepared I don't think the wait is a big deal. Plan in advance and it's not an issue. I also find it odd that Jeff would tell someone to email him.

"I've waited 7" was 7 weeks, not months, my bad. That's all. Oops, might of been h1n1, some type of flu, sorry again. My memory is foggy... and it sucks you can't edit such trivia information. :(

Wow... I never thought I'd EVER see a bad guy thread about Jeff Ronne and Boaphile!!! Almost my entire outfit is run through boaphile, with a few other brands mixed in from me trying the out from when I was first starting out. I have 25 421D's all with modifications to meet my needs, 3 ball room racks, a ton of other racks and odds and ends. I would say the average wait time would be 3-6 weeks. Keep in mind he makes everything to order. Nothing is premade. Also, included in the price, is a fully assembled, heat included, tub included (if it's a rack system) item... um... hello?? what more do you want???

Also... any time I've called Jeff, if he didn't answer right away, he called back within a few hours. If he didn't call me back, and I thought it was important, I'd call him, and guess what, he'd ANSWER!!!

This was WAY premature. I'm also curious if we can find a receipt for the purchase of this cage, or if this was indeed a rack purchased (busted) of off CL. At which point, anything Jeff does to help you out would be purely a GOOD GUY situation

Not a bad guy post, but I've tried emailing Mr. Ronne on several occasions with no response. I'm in Iraq, I placed an order about 3 weeks ago, never even received confirmation from him, just through paypal confirming my payment. I mean, busy or not, you have $400 of my money, you can find 5 minutes to read my email and reply. I'm coming home in 3 weeks, I have several snakes on hold for me, and need this rack delivered in a reasonable amount of time so I can set it up and get my snakes. I mean, busy or not, customer service shouldn't slack. I would call, but as I said, I am in Iraq and it's hard enough to get on the computer, let alone the phone.

I know his site says 3-5 weeks, that is why I left 6+ weeks of time, to make sure. I mean, is it really excusable to have poor customer service because you are "busy"? There are lines of work, like mine, where busy is not an option. You get the job done, and if you can't, maybe he shouldn't be taking orders or trying to be a cage guy and breeder.

Mike Fortier.

I ordered a ballroom rack from him a few months ago. I got the automated email response and a rack within 2 weeks, nothing else....and that was perfect for me. I think I must have caught their building cycle just right.
