In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Good morning,

My female Albino Het Anery had her post ovulation shed 106 days ago. She deposited urates and a waxy stool a little over a week ago. I'm trying to figure out if it is normal for a female to hold her babies longer than 105 days after her POS. I'm sure it isn't too unusual but I just want to know when I should start to be worried. Any information is appreciated.

Thank you!

They will never be exact. I wouldn't worry about it to much. There are many things that will decide when she drops, but just to name a few: Water intake, Temperature, Size of litter etc. Temperature plays the biggest role in determining when her little ones are ready.

I've heard about the water intake and the temperature being a factor. She has fresh water in her cage and her hot side is around 95 degrees and her cool side is in the 80's. So is it the bigger the litter the longer it takes or the smaller the litter the longer it takes? Thanks Jeremy!

I don't know how much the litter size will effect the time period, but I am sure a bigger litter can take longer. I didn't get to keep good records on my last litter, but she had 32 live and she went about 120 or so days after POS.

Ok, that makes me feel a little better. I hope she has them soon though, the suspense is killing me! I just want her and the babies to be healthy. I've heard too many stories about females slugging out and it's gotten me worried.

Thanks again.

They'll come out when they're ready. As even Jeff Ronne will tell you, the boas don't read Jeff's book on the subject. Honestly, it's normally the longer the better for the babies.

Chris

I wish they did read the book because things would be a little easier! lol I've probably read that book 100 times already. I went home for lunch and it looks like she might be having contractions and she looks pretty skinny in her upper half. We'll see what happens. If she is going to have them today I hope she waits until I can watch!
