    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Bobby Hill - Varnyard Herps: Buyers Beware.

I would think that if Bobby planned to make good, he would have stopped by and tried to make some kind of amends or notifications by now.

I agree with you there he could have at least sent out emails to all the people that sent him deposits.even if it was only to say hey something has come up and I don't have the money to refund you right now so sorry I will tighten you up at a later date.

Spending deposits or payments before you ship the animal then hearing that your customer is satisfied is asking for trouble which Bobby Hill has found out.
 
Ok im just catching up I had a full payment to Bobby for his last extreme giant male that he had now....I am understanding that he is dealing with a lot of separate issues after the hurricane so I do get that the shit hit the fan down there....I talked to him this past saturday and said when you were back stable to give me a call before you shipped the little guy out he said ok. I didnt know if things had been changing since then...I will add he hasnt responded to emails so its kinda making me feel uneasy.

does or is anyone else got the no response at least in email from him?
 
I did talk to paypal and I can open a dispute up and they will look into everything and The person I talked to said if need be they will overdraft his paypal account to get my money back if I decide to do that..

Im paying attention to what everyone here is saying at least the negative right now i dont want to disregard that but I dont know if this is just coincidence because everything in florida is in shambles or if he is playing BS...I have talked to him on the phone he will pick that up so again I dont know if internet is screwed thats why no response..I was going to at least give him till friday for any type of contact then if nothing happens then proceed with the paypal dispute arena....

Im just a little shocked too because Ive heard and read mostly awesome things with bobby and hes been awesome with me on the phone....is it just recently bobby has been shady or what do you think hes using the hurricane as a smoke screen for not getting his animals out....does anyone live in panama city Fl can anyone comment on if shipping in general is back on track or still getting sorted

I am South of Bobby's location in Florida. The hurricane was essentially a "non - event" anywhere North of Fort Myers. If he is using that as any sort of an excuse...it's a bald faced lie
 
Will, please do not hesitate to open your Paypal dispute. Having read this thread you know there are customers from 2011 who did not receive the animals they put deposits on (or refunds for those animals).

Whatever Bobby's issues are, they have nothing to do with any storm or phantom tornado and he has obviously decided not to communicate with paying customers or others who have tried to reach him, or post here.
 
I posted this on the tegutalk forums a few days back. I would rewrite it but I just got home from a 7 hour drive and I am extremely tired, but I needed to get this out here.

I have had a deposit down on a tegu since last year in October (For an 2011 All American though). Due to a move I couldn't spend the time to raise a tegu so I decided to cancel my deposit and when I asked Bobby for a refund, he did not respond to me for 3 days, so I just reversed it on Paypal and about an hour after he calls me, pissed off of course, and asks me to stop it and he would refund me. So, I apologized reversed my Paypal dispute and well... I never got my money back.

So I went though about two months of going back and forth of him claiming that paypal wouldn't allow him to refund me and supposedly that the money order I requested (since I wasn't getting it through Paypal) was returned twice which I know is BS since I have had people ship stuff to me from Florida before multiple times to my address. So after being fed up for 2 months of that nonsense I just decided to make it my deposit again on a 2012 All American (big mistake). That was in December.

Now all I am getting is what has been described on this forum, non-responsiveness from Bobby, and having no idea what is going on and if we are going to see a refund, or a tegu, and I am getting extremely irritated.

Unfortunately, since I feel that I never will get my tegu, I pursued my other interests and reptiles and I can no longer can keep a tegu since I no longer have room for the cage it will require when it is an adult (I do have someone who can take it if I ever get it). It breaks my heart that because of all this, I've almost lost my interest in tegus.

I will get some emails up that I have had between Bobby if needed, but I wanted to make sure I got my story in.

I also will be putting in a Paypal complaint by Friday if I do not receive word from Bobby about the tegu, or if no one else does, since last time I checked PC, Fl. weather forecast, this week was all sub-90 degrees as well as my area.
 
Since the deposits were made so long ago, I don't think PayPal will do anything about it. If you used a credit card, or direct transfer from your bank account, I think your best bet would be to see if you're still eligible for their buyer protections programs. I wouldn't waste any time with it. No more benefit of the doubt, for that guy. Do what you gotta do, immediately.
 
I wonder how many more people are going to show up saying Bobby Hill has taken their money then stopped communications with them?

Paypal is now conducting a fraud investigation into Varnyard Herps Inc. I just got off the phone with their fraud department. Everyone who has been scammed by Bobby should call paypal customer service & tell them you have more information on an ongoing fraud investigation, and give them all the details.

From paypal.com, go to Contact Us -> Call us.

If you are logged into your paypal account they will give you a one-time passcode to enter right when you call, which will take you to the front of the waiting line.
 
I'm confused on one point. I thought Bobby was a Admin on Tegu Talk but just noticed that one of the moderators said it was "Josh".

I also noticed there was a line crossed over his user name. Does that mean he is banned?

I am a moderator on TeguTalk. Bobby is no longer associated with the site in any way. He sold it to Josh, the admin. the whole atmosphere of the site is quite different now.
