Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

im looking at getting a tegu and planned on getting one from bobby but i was just reading boi about him and now im questioning him.do you think it would be a mistake to try to order from him or should i just take my business else where?

You read the whole thread about him and you have to ask if it is a mistake to deal with him? What do you think?
 
I think I can give you an answer that is a little more helpful.

It looks as though last year sometime Bobby threw out his reputation for what he could pool from his customers (for whatever reason) That being said, it is entirely possible that he could do it again this year. Personally, I wouldn't send him a dime to ship me anything, but if I had an opportunity to exchange cash for an animal that was present at the time (at a show, for instance) I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it.

Historically, he has produced some of the best tegus in the industry, so I can see why someone would still want one of his stock, but his animals have been so widely bred and distributed at this point that you will probably be able to find people who are selling extreme giants, high reds, etc, that were originally produced from his bloodlines anyway.

My advice, shop around. I'm sure you can find something that makes you happy from someone with a less shady track record. Good luck.
 
thx that is the kind of answer i was looking for.cause i know he has a good rep and some people had bad experiences with him but some had good so wasnt really sure what side i wanted to lean to

If that thread you read didn't have an impact on you, then I think you should go ahead and send him a deposit.
 
It seems to me that more and more, this forum is becoming a place for busybodies to gang up on others in order to make themselves feel superior. The OP made in inquiry. That's kind of the point of the BOI. The fact that anyone might have thought it was an obvious answer is not really relevant. If you're not going to say anything constructive, why don't you do everyone else a favor and just be quiet? There's really no need to insult someone for asking a question. You can just sit in your chair and be superior all by yourself.

Perhaps that thread is a lot to wade through: from what I read many people in the last two years have sent Bobby money and some, but far from all have received tegus. If I were you I would find a different tegu seller; one who currently has a good reputation and a good history of shipping promptly when they say they will.
 
He has ripped off more than just a few people at this point. And besides that, his tegus contain no magic and are not of any higher quality than any other captive bred tegus on the market. He's just a slick salesman that sold people on a lot nothing, which in the end is what most of them got.
 
I am getting really frustrated hearing people are getting ahold of this guy Bobby Hill. I gave him $350 for an extreme giant and he stayed in contact with me until June and said he could not send him in the heat and I haven't heard from him since. Please let me know if anyone know how to get ahold of this guy.....
 
Getting ahold of him isn't likely to accomplish very much, but I'd imagine that it'd be worth calling him from a different phone number, one that he wouldn't have on file. He's more likely to answer if he thinks you're a stranger-who isn't aware of his scam-that's calling to place a new order.

I think the person with the superiority complex is the one patting himself on the back for chastising those in this thread who merely want the OP to use his brain and process the volume of information he's been given on this very subject. You don't have the moral high ground by spoon-feeding an obvious answer to someone without the fortitude to make his own decision when the information is so overwhelmingly one-sided. That's not considerate, that's enabling laziness.

OP, do you have some specific questions? Is there any doubt in your mind as to what Bobby Hill has been up to for the past year?
