In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Tim Guiher:
Tim,I admire your loyalty to Bobby and I'm not being sarcastic. It is good to have friends such as yourself.I will continue to be honest and objective in this matter.Bobby Pruett never once told me about the snow boas bad eyes.It is confirmed that the snake is blind. Please read the following. Thanks for your reply Tim>>

Bobby and Everyone:

My wife just called me from the vet's office. It is in Vestavia Alabama and the doctors name is Dr.Kris Mahaffey. She did a complete eye exam on the snow boa and she states that the retina has adhered to the cornia. In other words she stated the snake is "blind".She stated he had a "severe" respiratory infection and that he is severely dehydrated. She states the most important thing right now is to hydrate the animal so that it can be tested further. She states this is one of the poorest looking snakes she has ever seen and she is a reptile vet.She recommends flagyl and fluids to rehydrate the animal right now.Once it is up to par they will do further testing. It cost me $102.81 for the vet visit. She told my wife that she will type up an official report tonight and put it in the mail tomorrow.Anyone that wants a copy please e-mail me your address and I will be glad to mail you a copy.As soon as I get the official report I will post it.And Bobby, don't worry,I will mail you the first copy.As you can see the snake was mis-represented and this is just the tip of the ice-burg with testing on this poor animal.Bobby, will you now return my animals to me? I promise you will get the first copy of the vet report. Thanks to everyone for your support.

$10,000 Crap Snake

Bobby,

It seems to me that you were through with that snake the minute it was shipped never the less after 15 days. You state that after you realized Randy had dealings with Bill Cagle you'd never take the snow boa back because of the issues Bill had. I think we all know what you're referring to there. Funny, if you're so concerned about it then I should think you'd be tickled pink to trade the remaining nine boas you have back to Randy because two of them came from Bill Cagle. For the record I have no issue with Bill or his animals. We have and will do business again I'm sure. You knew that snow had a problem and no matter what or when Randy made you aware of what is now HIS problem I think you would have responded in the same manner. By the response I've seen here I'm not the only one who feels this way.
I had a situation where an animal I bought six months before developed some kinks in it's spine. I wrote the breeder and told him about it as I fealt it was definitely a genetic issue. I sent him the animal back for him to bring to a vet and for his opinion. Even after this amount of time he made good on it and I respect and appreciate that very much. Truth is I would have done the same thing for him or anyone else because of something called INTEGRITY. A word you should look up the meaning of because it's obvious you have very little.
Before you criticize Bill Cagle's animals take a look at the $10,000 prize you traded. If you honestly believe inbred albinos with eye problems and genetic disorders are acceptable then do everyone (including the snakes) a favor and get out of the business. With the way you're handling this thread you just may get there sooner than you think.

Tim, not to jump on you at all, but you hit the nail on the head. your animal probably died because of the piles of poop and no water bowl in the cage I seen the snakes personally about a month or so, and then you say ( why should he put his collection at risk anymore than it is. ) Flat out tells everyone what shape they are in, I seen it with my own eyes.

hypo

Jim,
I don't understand how you saw my snake and can talk about why it died seeing as how my snake never was at Bobby's. I live an hour and a half away from Bobby and that hypo remained at my house the entire time I owned it.

Randy, Sorry about the bad news

Randy,
I'm sorry about the bad news from the vet. When you mentioned in your first post that it was blind I had remembered checking out pictures of the boa. I read that ads too and wanted to see what this "expensive" boa looked like. I didn't like the way the eyes looked. They looked "funky and almost fake". I hope Bobby does the right thing and returns your snakes. If not, I guess you could always go to court. I'd really hate to see things go that far, but if that's what it comes to............
Anyway I hope you keep us all posted on how the snake is doing.
Good Luck,
Linda

This looks like it is gonna be an all out war.
So I will stay out of it.
But I wanted to cover a couple things.
I will not say who is right or who is wrong.
I am only posting for the snake.

The snake was in full breeding mode. (Breeding stress)
The snake was shipped. (Shipping stress)
The snake got into its new surroundings (environmental stress)

The snake was cruising around. The snake striked at a rat. The snake constricted it and ate it. But now the snake is looking limp. Having neurological problems etc etc etc.

It is WAY WAY to quick for IBD

I believe it is a Bacterial Meningitis.
It can come on suddenly and show itself with a quickness.
The snake needs to be taken to a vet asap (preferably herp vet) and started on some antibiotics. One of them being amikacin and the other.....shoot it escaped my mind.

Due to the aforementioned stresses the snake was subjected to. I really truly believe the snakes immune levels dropped way way low and it succumbed to some rather opportunistic bacteria.
Fight this out later.....take care of the snake now.

Again good luck to both of you.

Ritchie:
Thanks for your informative reply. My wife took it to the vet today and spent $102.81 for some testing. The animal is so poor that the doctor wanted to do minimal testing until he can be rehydrated and fight the "severe respiratory infection" that he has.She did conclude that he is blind, has RI, and has an infection. My wife got the antibiotic and like you I forgot the name of it.If the snake lives a couple of more weeks then they will draw blood and check for more defects. The most important thing is that Bobby NEVER told me the snow had bad eyes. The doctor stated that his pupils are completely non-reactive and the retina has adhered to the cornia..In other words "BLIND"...This alone is grounds for me to get my animals back! Believe me,I have great concern for the animals well being, but also the great monetary value I have into this animal. Thanks again for your thoughts..

Randy Bush

Randy,

Why did you wait two weeks to take it to the Vet? Did you tell the Vet you shipped the snake in two weeks ago? Have you used him in breeding? your emails said he was looking for females in the same room. You didn't quarantine Him?

Mike Conley

john,

I read all the post and yes I saw mudslinging on both sides. I still haven't found a business complaint. Did he sell you an animal?

Mike Conley

Again, I don't know either of these two guys. I do have respect for John Reese (in spite of his NFL affiliation :D), and I believe that he would tell you the truth whether you wanted it or not.

However, Randy has not answered some fairly straight forward questions. Bobby has dodged a few as well. I wonder why these questions have been unanswered. I still have to wonder why all of the back and forth emails have yet to be posted.

I also have to ask this (perhaps my ignorance is showing here):

If an animal's retinas have attached themselves to its corneas, how can it react badly to light? If its retinas are misplaced, how can it detect light all???? I just don't see how these two concepts mesh here.

Mike-

A couple of things.

First: I never said that I didn't return his attacks. I did. Plain and simple. I do not deny it. Pruett attacking me was fine. I'm a big boy and can hold my own. But he brought my family into it. Period.

Second: You must either have not really read the thread, or failed to comprehend what was posted. If you had read it, and were able to comprehend what I posted, you would know the answer to your own question.

Here's one.

The snakes Retina and cornea are messed up.
They were not properly represented in any of the communications.

What are you going to do?

He has aid he will send me a copy of the vet report. I stated their was no deffects in the animal and Randy will provide me with the vet report and he will be getting his snakes back for the snow. If its *blind* then I stand corrected by saying he was just senative to lite because he was a snow boa.

Thank you ... THAT is what I wanted to hear.

If the snake got sick cause of meningitis or other infections...That is on the buyer. At some point the buyer will had to take responibility.

But for a preexisting condition like the cornea/retina thing. I feel the seller is very much responsible.

Thank you for your answer.
I now know to still keep you on my list of people to buy snakes from.

Heres what I just emailed Randy Bush
