In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bobby Pruett "Possible Law Suit"

Mike,
I am all for defending friends and stuff. But come on.
Waiting 18 days and how many matings later, to get it to a Vet is not fair to the animal or the breeder your shipping it back to.
Sorry but in 18 days....it would not have been with that many females.

And yes we do believe you (at least I do) when you say you saw it several weeks before it was shipped and it was in good condition.

It was just down hill from there.
He was in breeding mode. He did not want to eat or drink.
I have a snake like that here. He is my only guaranteed 100% het for albino. I had to force him off the breeding mode by putting him in a different room where he could not smell the ladies. I then heated him up and started feeding him. He was goind down hill fast. So what I am saying is we (I) belive you when you say you saw it and it was in good condition.

Darrin thanks for the info. I don't know how much that relates to reptiles though. We have to remember that mammalian vision is usually MUCH more developed than reptilian. The article also mentioned "leaky" genes. That means that when the albino gene(s) was present in the dog it caused more than just albinism.

Has anyone out there noticed any problems with their albino animals? Mine seem fine and don't behave any differently than my normally pigmented ones. I think the eye problems we see w/ boas is probably the result of mass produced inbred individuals. I.e. somewhere back along the albino line there was a one-eyed albino born and possibly that animal's litter mates were carrying those genes. Because of the extreme value placed on these animals those animals genes were placed into a breeding program somewhere rather than being culled out. Now because there were so few animals to start with those genes pop-up all over the albino population.

To Dana

Not even if it looked like the Pictures of the animal in Question?

Yea, I missed the whole page with the photos. I honestly dont know what I'd do if I got in an animal that looked like that--especially after paying 10K.

As for the albino thing--I do definitely notice differences between my albino snakes (and geckos) vs normals. But, any high end morph I tend to figure has a lot of inbreeding that has gone on to get there and I would expect "issues". That is probably why I dont buy them--LOL.

One more thing, someone stated earlier than albinism is a "defect." Albinism is simply the lack of pigment.

Not sure who you're referring to but earlier I stated that albinism is a "handicap", not a "defect". Lack of pigment on the iris can allow excess light to penetrate the iris, even when the iris is closed. In other words, bright lights can appear brighter to an albino than to a normal. Sounds like a handicap to me.

Hydration

This is the second post off of the top of my head that has at least something to do with dehydrated animals. I had a female double het snow, and a female anery het snow boa that I NEVER saw drink from a dish. I noticed it right away because when I would spray them down, they would drink copiously from their bodies and side of the cage. That got me wondering and so I kept a closer eye on them and not ONCE saw them drink from the bowl. Gtp's are like this, but would not have thought twice about a columbian not drinking from a bowl.

So, WATCH your animals closely.

I'm also baffled at the fact that you didn't just fly out for this trade...it would have cost you what...$300 for the RT ticket? I can understand buying blind with hundreds of dollars at stake, but multi-thousands is a different issue.

Pruett acting out again

If anyone is interested in watching Pruett make an A$$ out of himself again, here's a link.

corallus

In regard to the link poster earlier in this thread for the corallus BOI post, Pruett deleted the entire thread (which you can do on that BOI). I will soon be reposting the entire 31 pages somewhere and will provide a link here as soon as I do.

LOL

Karen

You never stop. What does my personal problem with you have to do with this thread or any other? Dont leave out the part where I told you to copy all 31 pages and waited a week to delete it.

Thanks Rich....

I went to the other site and read the referenced posts. I won't get involved in that since I didn't take the time to read the entire thread, and after reading what I did had no desire to stay on that Forum anyway.

Thank you Rich, for not allowing that kind of language on this site. I may be a prud but I find it offensive. It's only purpose perhaps is that it sheds much light on the character of the author.

Bobby Pruett is a thief!

Bobby,

I know that you are reading this post and I want to tell anyone that might be interested in buying the animals posted 9/2/07 to beware. The pair of IJ carpets, 03 Albino female, Arabesque het for anery hatchling, Albino Argentine X 06 and various others belong to me. I never thought that you would stoop so low as a herper (I was going to say human being) but the facts are clear-you are a thief!
As I stated to you in an earlier email that I truly believed in you and your rantings about greed in the hobby reflect on you.

As you told me once karma is a b**** and maybe you will find the time to make it right.
