    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It's day one and she was just moved today from her former home. .1 (1) yr old dh snow. bought her for breeding project later. she is striking glass when we walk in room and constantly in strike pose when handling her... is this normal? i did a visit with her several times before buying her and prev owners did not have this problem. So they say. Is she just stressed from the move you think? I've had several snakes from prev owners and never had this problem.
 
You said the most important and most likely factor; "it's day one."

The animal is probably stressed and needs to be left alone and given time to settle in. If it can see people walking by the cage, then cover it (the cage doors) so it isn't feeling constantly threatened. It should calm down after is acclimates to new surroundings.

Also, just double check temps to make sure it's got the proper thermal gradient.

I agree that it's just the snake acclimating most likely.

Personally, I don't handle new snakes or geckos once I get them for a week or two unless necessary. I'm sure she'll calm down soon :)
 
Thanks guys. I took her out for an hour last night after everyone went to bed and she was perfect. I think it was the high traffic area she was in- so relieved!
