In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Brandon Griffey

that is a few dates where is the card that will show more than just a smal window in time "and 4 meals in just over 2 weeks isnt alot?". As to trolling, I have every right as you. If you dont like my post dont repond

And the cause of death is what matters the most, next to a refund of some sort.

As to the keeping of Ball pythons I have been keeping them for almost 15 years, I might not be an expert but Im more than aware what is and isnt power feeding.

Those meals and the length of time between it's last meal and shipping show an erratic schedule at best. The rest of it's feeding schedule isn't relevant to the topic, as it can't remove culpability from the buyers.

I think the bottom line is this: 10 days is a short period of time to receive a Ball Python and have it die. If the Ball was received and placed by itself in QT, I would say a complete and timely refund was due the buyers. Because this was not the case, the buyers may have contributed to the snake's death. We may never know for sure.

If you bought a nice exotic used car, say an old Ferrari 308, and you got it shipped to you, and you took the car off the shipping truck and immediatly drove it on a high speed 200 mile trip, and blew the engine because there were no fluids in the engine, whose fault would it be? The guy who shipped it without the proper amount of oil and engine lubricants, or yours, for not checking it out before you drove it on a long trip?

what its record card could/would show how fast it got up to size and as to how it ate during its breeding season with the seller, how far did Xavier push the potion to breed

Again. It is irrelevant to the buyers culpability in the death, and has no bearing on determining whether on not they should be due the refund.

So what killed your snake everything dies from something nothing just dies for no reason

Vet suggested that it might have died of stress or just not getting used to the new environment.
Otherwise, she did a bunch of tests, including one where she told me she opened the snake up physically (i forget the word at the moment, im not feeling well), and nothing ... no disease or virus was found.
Everything was how it was supposed to be.

Rocky died within four days of being at my house, from opening the box to the morning where I rolled over to take a look at him and finding him in his quarentine tub.

You should always quarentine your snakes, you should always keep it quiet around them to get the acclimated, and you should never put a snake that you just received in with females. Wait at least a week.

Ive said this once before, and ill say it again.
If you are so concerned with the money that you are spending on ONE animal, then wouldnt you WANT to take all the precautions?
Regardless if the animal is technically healthy, you do not know this.
With a $1000 snake, wouldnt you WANT to put it in quarentine, get it as healthy as possible before breeding it?

And honestly, waiting until next breeding season isnt that much of a time wait as both your females and the male will be older, healthier, theyll have more time to gain weight and be healthier to get ready to do their business and lay eggs.

Again. It is irrelevant to the buyers culpability in the death, and has no bearing on determining whether on not they should be due the refund.

what it does show that the seller may not have taken the best care aswell ,and it could have been a contribting factor, well have to wait and see what the vet determins was the reason it died.

So a seller can mis represent a animal and sell it for something it is not , and its all on the buyer.. I guess your right buyer beware whom you buy from.:>Puke<:

No, in this case, it's BUYER if you can't afford to lose your investment, TAKE CARE OF IT.

The animal wasn't even in the BUYER's care when it died.:shrug01:

Anybody else think that, in the absence of participation from the buyer and seller, this thread has become akin to beating a dead horse?

:iagree: Absolutely, 100% yes. But I would rather beat that horse than allow the thread to be pulled into fantasy land. Little help?:D

Help? Of what type?
Are you seriously asking us to step in against people that simply don't share your point of view?
You refer to Kevin S as a troll, and have reported some of his posts....please explain the difference between his activity on this thread, and your own. Just kidding, I get it - he's a troll, you are simply passionate about your opinion.
Both "sides" are welcome to their opinions...and this is a pretty good discussion topic. I do tend to think that the current discussion has run its course unless the buyer and/or seller resume participation; but as long as things stay relevant to the topic, there's not really any moderation required.

(On a personal level; I will add that perhaps this discussion might be better pursued generically in General Business.)

I love a good debate, actually, and have no problem with differing opinions so long as they are on topic. The topic here is based on facts of stated circumstance by both parties, not pie in the sky supposition. If this were a "what if this or that" thread I'd have no issue at all with Kevin skipping down the yellow brick road, but this isn't that kind of thread is it.

Funny description of his opinions.

Thanks for the laugh.

Why? Because there was no fraud involved, and if Xavier had lost the animal, from his breeding, feeding, etc, it would have been on him and we wouldn't be here. However, the buyer was aware of these issues, youth, breeding, etc (that you just pointed out) and assumed responsibility when he purchased the animal.

The fact of the matter (IMO) is that when dealing with live entities there is no guarantee. The buyer can not be held responsible for selling an OUTWARDLY healthy animal unless PRIOR illness can be proven.

Personally, I would not spend that kind of money on an animal that was bred before being shipped to me. I am also leery about buying grown animals, because there's really no way to know how many times the animal has been bred, whether there were ever any complications and how old the animal actually is. Personally, I prefer to raise my own hatchlings to prevent these kinds of outcomes where possible. Purchasing hatchlings gives the buyer time, and opportunity for de-stressing, observing the health, and quarantining the animal.

We are not keeping the parties from working out anything, but the buyer really screwed his case by:

1. Being caught in untruths, fabrications, exaggerations
2. Not quarantining
3. Not having possession of the animal

Thus unless the report proves a pre-existing condition, he's out of luck.:shrug01:

I don't think it can be any more simple than that. :shrug01:

BTW: I was going to leave the "Power-feeding" implication alone, but wanted to mention that it's not unusual for a yearling to reach those weights without power-feeding.

I decided that I may need to provide evidence of this claim. Below is a 9 month old male from MagickalMorphs (Shadera) he's empty.

This boy has been on F/t since I got him, eats about every two weeks, but sometimes, he will get a spare that someone else rejected, and sometimes he will accept it. Let the picture speak for itself:
