I obtained this male in 2021 as part of a package deal with a female. He has always been a surplus male but I held on to him for a while because he is just so friendly and personable. I have a few too many males though so it’s time to find him a new home.
This male is definitely on the smaller side but is fully mature and is quite the ladies man at 8.5 inches. I was told he is from Santa Catarina bloodlines which is a locality that stays smaller. Perfect if you are looking to breed a line of cherryheads that doesn’t get too large. I was also told he was 6 years old when I got him which would make him 8 now. He has grown about 600 grams over the last two years. I don’t suspect he’ll grow substantially larger but he likely still has some growing to do.
The last picture in the listing was his size when first obtained, he also had more marbling then.
