After seeing that pic, and the pathetic surroundings these animals were kept in, I for one wouldn't call it a beak-in/theft...looks more to me like a rescue. man, those cages look terrible!! $hi+ and pi$$ everywhere...do snakes even need water??? What about Tigers??? Do they eat??? Who would have thunk it????

I failed to mention that, Ritchie. Glad you posted that. Things that make you go hummmmmmmm!
no wonder there are reports of tics, mites, and whatever else. There cages DO NOT APPEAR to be cleaned........at least in a few months.
With the slow metabolism that snakes have, it would take a LONG time to have a snake put out enough fecies to make it look like that.
Look at the sides of the doors (where they are open), it is GROSS!

I guess it is hard to break old habbits.
First convicted of animal cruely, then the tiger ordeal, now you POST PICTURES of these poor snakes in that type of housing???? Just imagine what it must have been like for him to get in trouble with the law. Apparently this is not bad enough so it had to be worse before! I wonder if anyone ever checks on stores to make sure the husbandry is good and the animals are healthy/taken care of/kept clean/etc.?
I have never owned a reptile shop so I am not sure if there is something to the quivilant of the Health Dept. (I work in Food and Beverage so I am aware of those types of inspections).

I wonder if those pics were taken at the shop or at whoever's house the snakes are now at. I Think it would be real interesting to see when they were shot. I do not think he is dumb enough to take them after they were "stolen", but why would you take a pic with 3 inches as crap on the floor? He is also selling adult boas, maybe he is getting out of the herp sales. We can only hope. Craig Kade

None of the reports say that the albino ball was stolen.
However......if we can see the police report......
it would be very helpful.

DNR and CODE Enforcement.
Brian - here in Fla we are checked regularly with owning a reptile shop. With private breeders - such as Paul and I - Game commission will show up unannounced for a surprise inspection of your animals and record keeping at any time they want. If FWC finds any feces in the water bowls or unsanitary cages they give you a court hearing and/or fines you. In some cases they can cease your animals. But in SC they have the Department of Natural Resources and Code Enforcement.
Someone (or all of us rather) needs to contact the DNR and report Bruce and the animals poor conditions. Animal control and/or Code Enforcement will go to the business and see that the business is unsanitary for the animals and they will shut Bruce down hopefully or rescue the animals from Bruce.

Like I said on another thread recently, I will do what I have to in order to 'weed' out those that conduct business like Bruce 'allegidly' does. I cannot prove a thing at this point. There is no excuse for selling something that is not what it was sold as, if indeed he has done this. We will only tell when the time comes. There is not reason animals have to be kept inthe conditions they are...this has been proven by his own pics.

This is my first post on faunaclassifieds and the BOI, I only discovered it about a month ago. Just want to share my situation. I purchased a microchipped 100% het pied female (of course) from a fellow hobbiest who had bought it from "Harry Eisenmann" of HCE in May of 2003. The hobbiest provided a copy of the original receipt (he had purchased 2 and didn't want to send his original receipt because he still had the other female). It seems obvious. If Bruce was misrepresenting himself as Harry, he was misrepresenting his normals as hets. Why would he lie about who he is and then sell legitimate animals? This is obvious fraud. I can see where someone who has all records of the transaction can go after Bruce, but I have nothing but a microchipped normal female and a photocopy of a receipt from HCE with AVID stickers (in the photocopy, not the sticker itself) that says 100% het pied genetics guaranteed for life. I have contacted the ex-hobbiest, now out of the snake stuff. He doesn't think he retained any records once he sold the rest of his collection. He's supposed to check, but hasn't gotten back to me. Maybe he's worried I'll come after him or just doesn't want to get involved. I don't understand why those of you who bought from "Harry" and have retained adequate records of the transaction aren't already going after Bruce for this obvious fraud. There seems to be little point in waiting and trying to prove out any of these "hets" bought from "Harry". That's what I'm probably going to have to do, but I probably have little recourse with my limited documentation. Those of you with good documentation...GO GET HIM!!! If you have a reciept (even if it is just a copy) wouldnt the microchip number be on the reciept? If the number on the reciept matches the number of the chip in your snake, I wouldnt think it would matter if your reciept is original or not as the chip could be used as evidence to prove that the reciept is real.

If the number is NOT on the reciept, I wonder if AVID has a record of who purchased the number of your chip. These are things I would be looking into immediately if I were you.

Does anyone have any good ideas on what someone could actually do? I know he did misrepresent himselves (plural). We certainly can not prove the hets are bogus yet. I would say the first step would be to get all the info of people who have bought from harry/bruce/noah. Then what?? It would make sense to me for us all to get 1 lawyer. I am pretty sure the total of all animals would add up to tens of thousands of dollars. You can put me down for 3 grand alone. I think a lawer would be more likely to take the case if he knew what kind of total dollars were involved. I also beleive it would be easiest to try to find a lawer local near Bruce. These are just thoughts of the top of my head. Maybe everyone could give me some ideas. Another thing to keep in mind is I think he is selling what is left of his stock right now. If we win and he is broke that does not help us either. Craig Kade

I have never done business with Bruce or anyone else from HCE/Digital Reptiles/Carolina Reptile Exchange.
The first thing that MIGHT help are all the people that have read this and then emailed me come here and post that it would be ok to post our email transactions. That is that and I will leave that one alone.
OK, Harry is dead. I do not think that someone would post an obituary in the public paper/s for all his friends/family to see if it were not true.
We also know that Bruce's name (at least the multi searches I have done) is Bruce A. Eisenmann. So that eliminates any Harry's that might be around (as well as other son's that Harry had whose name's were not Harry or middle initial of "H" in the obituary I posted).
I have also not talked to anyone that knows of a Noah. Although the idea has been given to me on whether or not that is his son. Now, if Bruce is making deals using his son's name (I HAVE NO PROOF OF HIS SON'S NAME OR IF THIS IS TRUE), there are deeper issues here than what we already had.
Now we also know that there are people that have come forward that are woed money by Bruce (and also others I have heard of but cannot count those since they did not post it themselves).
We have Greg Hubbard who has come here posting that he did a trade with Bruce (on the other thread about HCE and/or CRE) for some 'het pieds' for a albino Eastern D-Back. Bruce then decides to leave the show early. It very well could have been his plan all along, but I personally find it odd that someone would do such a thing and pass up the chance to make more money at the show with the herps they had. MY OPINION is that Bruce new he had 'taken Greg for a ride' and wanted to get out of town before anything came up. Low and behold, Greg was approached my someone that very day about the 'POSSIBLE' scam that Bruce could be doing.
I guess the point I am getting at is there are enough people that could get together and have a 'class action lawsuit' on Bruce.
One point that was brought up and most likely will be a speed bump in the road will be that nobody has produced babies from these 'hets' yet. I think there is something for the path that Bruce has taken in the past few years.
1. Says "Harry" has now seperated from Bruce and Bruce is on his own now. Ok, we know that would be impossible because Bruce is dead. These posts by Bruce were made as recently as last year or late '02 I believe. Like I brought to the attention of this Board, Harry died on May 28, 1999.....so that would be impossible
2. His own guarantees on his page cover his a$$ pretty well. He states that breeding must be done 2 times before they can be 'disproven'. I do not like that and have not heard ANYONE doing that before, but it is on his page.
3. He also states that there is NO GUARANTEE on replacements. That could mean that he could be scamming EVERYONE, have people breed these snakes 2 times, and simply replace the 'het' with another normal............if indeed he is scamming people. There would be no liability on his end because he states no guarantees on replacements.
4. Now, you all are thinking, but if there were fraud involved, his guarantee would be pointless. I AGREE! I think everyone should start emailing people and asking what there guarantee is on hets (how many times breeding before they can be 'disproven, etc.) I think that is you got enough people to say that this type of genetic guarantee is rediculous, you might have something. I DO AGREE that with balls (small clutches) it IS possible for TRUE HETS to not produce the actaul 'morph' in one year. Not all together NORMAL though. More often than not, you will get the 'morph' you desired. Hopefully most/all of you bought female hets and are going to breed them to male 'morphs' (Pieds in this case) and then there would be no argument as to whether it was a scam or not.
5. I think there is allot to say about someone who has repetidly sold mite/tic convered snakes (to whatever degree). This goes along with his past of not caring for animals and neglect. That would be one of FEW ways for these animals to get in this condition. One question is, did you point this out when you got them?
Bruce is obviously doing business as Harry (his Dad). This is misleading the customer and in my opinion is fraud. You contacted HCE/CRE thinking you were doing business with Bruce, UNLESS you have emails from Harry Eisenmann. Even then, you were misled since Harry has been dead for some years now.
I would like to keep thinking on this idea of getting everyone together as I am sure I can come up with other legitamate things to argue in regards to dealing with Bruce.

I'll tell you why, because it's all BS and he knows it's only a matter of time before the game is over. I sold 20 normal females to 'Harry' last year...what does that tell you??? I really hope the 100%ers prove out for everyone who purchase them, but if you ask me this has gotten even more disturbing by the week...he's F'ed up, he won't come here or anywhere to defend/explain this mess, his historical trail is obvious and factual, and he used his dead father as an out...sounds like the guy from survivor that lied about his grandma. My gut tells me the only 100% thing that concerns this thread is Bruce is bad, bad, bad news...and I still can't get over those pics...pathetic...I'm fairly positive the 'rescued' animals are in better hands.
They should know about this thread or one of the many others about him. As far as proof...why the heck doesn't this guy post some sort of explanation or defense to these allegations??? That particular cage looks to be one from the back room of the store.
Most of his cages are very similar to that type of construction, as in
hinges, drop doors and the hasps or simple hook catches he has in place.
Something does strike me odd now, as I recall that all his enclosures for
the larger snakes, were like the cage in the pics, simple hasps and plexi,
with the two pieds, being in a small sweater box rack, in a plastic box.

It now seems odd, to me, that any glass was broken to get to any of bruces snakes, unless he had installed padlocks or some type of locking catches since the last time I had seen them.
I did go there last week, the big cages in the front display area of
the store, were the same, simple hasps etc, no locks, for any of them, so I
highly doubt that he installed locks on any in the back room either.
The care for all the animals is rather horrid.. The first time I went to the
shop, I got the grand tour ( whoopieee...), in the back, he had a beautiful
albino boa, with a very swollen head, due to a severe unchecked mouth rot,
other large boids with scarring from what looked to be massive rodent bites
or burns etc and several cobras that were in glass caging entirely too small
( one cage had 2 cobras in it) with the majority of the animals, living in
their own feces or others feces.
Even the animals in the front, when I was there last week, were in cages
full of urates that the species actually in the cage, could never have
produced.
An albino monacled cobra, also in the front on public display, having a
severe case of nose rub, very obviously not being treated.. ( not sure if
its hot or void.. memory escapes me on that one)
Hot or not.. ya keep the critter, ya gotta care for it..
Craig.. possibly a simple gathering of the emails or even a simple yahoo board could help keep track of the info
and allow easier moderation to keep the personal info etc.
This would take some load off the slave & mods backs also.

Don't get me wrong. I feel for ALL of you. Like I said in a post earlier, I will do everything I can to stop the people who take advantage of others.
Just like Craig said, this thread is full of opinions. As far as the facts are concerned there is not an proof as of yet.
I still say you have an argument in regards to him selling to you as his dead father.
NO CONTRACT VERBAL OR OTHERWISE is any good when the person you made it with is DEAD! I am not a lawyer, but I would bet you all's animals that I am right!
That in itself is fraud and misleading........SO, you might have a case and deserve your money back (for those that have emails/made deal with "Harrry').
Do any of you still have the emails from your transactions?
I do agree, there should be a place where people can post what they have sold to CRE/Digital/HCE and also what people have purchased. I think along with that compared to any locals (close by in b=neighboring states) you can get to come forward and not just email me that would say the amount of adults that they have seen in the last couple years will be able to tell allot. Balls do not produce the apparent amount of hets that have been purchased by this guy. I am from that part of the country. There are ALLOT of towns within a short distance of Fort Mill including areas across the borders of N. Carolina (including Charlotte) and even Tennessee which is just a couple hours away. I have driven that distance to get animals before so it is not impossible.

Allow me to volunteer. Everyone email me what they feel is relevant. I feel I have been MORE THAN TRUSTWORTHY with all the people that have emailed me and I PROMISED not to mention names.......I have kept that end of the bargain.
I will put them on a Word format (yes, this will be simple to do and to observe) and resend it back to people.
Does this make sense and would you all be up to it?
I suggest this so people do not find this site who did not intend to and just post 'stuff' for the sake of posting. I will save it to a floppy disk so even if my pc crashed (LORD FORBID) it would be safe.
JUST UNDERSTAND that what I send back to people will be viewed by all that email me (when I send it back)......no more secrets!
