In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi,

I use to breed Leopard geckos but I'm finding that I just can't breed them. I like bearded dragons and I have one amazing female name Kala, she has transparent nails and I think she is hypo pastel. She is huge and really cool. Should I get a hold of one male and one female or just one male? If so anything suggested? Like hets and stuff?

Can I get a run down on the breeding like how difficult it is and just what is needed to be done.

Thanks guys!!!

Well if you want to just try beardie breeding just get a male. As for what kind if her nails are clear she is a hypo and breeding her to a hypo will result in hypo offspring, breeding to a het hypo will result in a few hypo not sure on the percentages? As for breeding, she should be 350-400 grams (my preference) at least 9 months old but I wait til there a year. Place the male in the females cage, His beard will blacken like a jet black not just draken and he will aggeresivly(spelling?) bob his head very violently (he looks retarded but he is fine haha) she will slowly wave her arms uo and down and he will case around catch her and grab ahold of her neck and mate with her. she will lay eggs if she is actually mated with and you just incubate them you can find details on that on here and on line

Sticky Breeding 101 is located on this forum. It will tell you what you need to know if you plan on breeding. Just go back a page and its the 3rd thread by heartmountain.

Ok just to add on this... I bought my female from Designer Dragons. Should I get the male from them? Or should I go with another breeder. If someone can suggest a guy who has fair prices but has great bearded dragons with great genetics that would be helpful.

Carolina Designer Dragons? Go to there website bro and get the phone #...call and talk to Lynn. She's friggin awesome. Once she knows which of her precious little ones you have, she can match it with an unrelated mate. Lynn rocks man if you even start to ask her a question, you will walk away with more knowledge than you need.

Lynn is great and she has different clutches, so you wont have to worry about inbreeding. Just let her know which dragon you got from her and she will do what she can. I am proud to say I have bought 3 of her dragons and they are very beautiful. She takes great care of her dragons health and makes sure they are very happy. She is a A+++++ breeder.

Ok so looks good should the female be bigger than the male?

You really only need to mak sure she weighs enought to lay eggs, it takes alot out of a female dragon, I have used young and old males and size doesn't always matter between sexs, but the female needs some fat on her....

Ok what is the weight on your female and what is the age? Before you really consider breeding her make sure she is up to par. I prefer to wait until they are a year old to a year an a half, but accidents do happen. Have you treated her for parasites, has she been through a cool down to help stimulate fertility? Breeding is a big responsibility, but her health is the main issue. The younger they are or less body weight can result in death from egg binding. I'm not trying to be a pain, but this is all information that needs to be considered before you try to breed. As Max stated, it takes alot out of the female.

I'm pretty sure she is has no parasites but I'll do it anyway. This is not going to happen until later this summer. I just want to prepare myself and get the money together to buy the boy. I also need to sell some of my leopard gecko stock before doing this, so there are a few things to do.

Age is perfect for your plans, so no worry on that. At that age she should weigh 300 grams or more without a problem, but I would weigh her just to make sure. Parasites are always possible if you feed insects in there diet. If you have a local herp vet they can administer the dewormer and possibly show you how to if you ask nicely. I started to deworm my dragons upon recommendation by friends that are beardie breeders also when I told them I had plans to breed, so thats why I suggest it. That way when the time comes, you will sell clean and healthy babies and thats always a positive. I deworm mine before I plan a breeding pair. Right now would be a perfect time to do it because there is no chance of her being gravid. YOU NEVER deworm if there is a chance because it could harm your female and the eggs she is carrying inside of her.
When they do breed, its not pretty. The male grabs the back of the females head at her spikes and forces her to mate. I have heard of breeding pairs that nip each other and I have experienced it, so be prepared because it does get aggressive in there and I had to pull my female out before she got hurt. I waited a few days and then reintroduced the female to the male and that time she was much more submissive.

So Lynn emailed me and she told me she has 6 week olds that would work but I think I would rather just get an adult. She was very helpful though. Does anyone know of a person who is selling a male Hypo Pastel, clear nailed? It should have a "pedigree".

I just went through most of the classifieds and I did find one adult male Hypo Pastel. The seller is MissBaseball. I dont know anything about her, but she says she got the male for Bijou Dragons and she only wants 175 for him. I have heard of this Bijou Dragons and the males picture can also be seen on her for sale ad. I think he would be the one I would choose to be honest. Check it out. Its on page 8 and its posted by MissBaseball.

All Bearded Dragons & Leopard Geckos for Sale
Good Morning Everyone,

Everything is for sale!

We have found out I’m expecting, so we need to clear out all of our reptiles ASAP. We have 16 animals, most from very reputable breeders. Please see the price list below and I will post pics as I can. I am also selling various supplies associated with these animals, but the tanks, etc. will have to be local pickups (Richmond, VA). We will combine shipping and/or discount any purchase of multiple animals – any reasonable offer will be accepted, we're just trying to cover our expenses. Most of these were purchased with breeding projects in mind for this year so they are young and high quality animals!

Please email me at [email protected] or PM me on here.

The gecko pics can be found on the gecko forum, or email me and I will provide them!

Thanks,
Brandi Barwick
