In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I have a pair of crested geckos that were born in summer of 2007 and I would like to breed them.

Thus far I have been maintaining them on a diet of gut loaded and dusted crickets and mixed fruit and meat pureed baby food. They are on a paper towel substrate in a 29 gallon aquarium with a screen lid, lots of hanging plants and some branches for climbing. I mist them once or twice a day, and temps in my herp room are typically in the low to mid 70's.

These two have been housed together since December of 2007. I honestly did not know what gender they were at time of purchase (they were too small then) but it's become very obvious over the past few months that I have a pair, as the males hemipenal bulge is truly huge. They have never to my knowlege produced any eggs, though I have not given them a nest box.

Would it be possible to breed these two? I am worried that perhaps the female is infertile, as my female leopard geckos seem to produce eggs all the time even without a male in their tank. Do I need to do anything specific to encourage them to breed? Should I feel them something different or change the temps in any way?

Hi Lauren, your female should be around 38-40 grams to breed her.

I always seperate the males from the females around 12 weeks before breeding starts.

Put males with females, up temps to around 80*F misting a couple times a day, collect eggs from lay box.:)

Theres really many ways to do this, I always thought the seperation was key to success.
