Hi,
I hope I am posting this in the right place but. I have a question about breeding that I could not find the answer to online. I just started putting my male to my female and at first it didn't look hopeful. Today I noticed a lock but to my dismay me opening the top startled the male and I noticed his hemipene fell out. Yes I actually saw the body roll sideways and the pene was sticking out. It was totally unexpected and I was actually going in to remove him and give another boy a try at it at the time it happened. I immediately put the top back on and then I turned the lights off again and continued with the Barry White loop I was playing (kidding about the Barry White lol)
Now my question is if the mating process was interrupted like this will they be ok to keep in a day longer and get them to mate? Will they try to mate again?
Upon putting the top back on I noticed the male rubbing the females tail again and it looked hopeful. I am just hoping I didn't fudge the duck on this one.
Also what are the chances if they were hypothetically like that all day of copulation actually happening. I know this process is generally like a one or two day process but I was just wondering the likely hood of him actually knocking her up if the lock happened earlier?
Hope all that made sense and thanks for any answers.
Again I am new to breeding so I already know it was kind of a rookie mistake to interrupt them.
