In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Thanks for looking...
I have a weird question and would like to know what some of you might think. I visually witnessed copulation taking place between a pair of mine. I planned to leave the male in the cage for a few days after just to ensure that everything went well, but figured he was done. I returned the next day and found a semen plug about 3 inches long slung across the tail end of my female and the male had stopped all attempts to breed... Two days passed and he did not continue to breed. I removed the pair form the enclosure to clean and attempt to feed them, which was not successful, and returned them both to the enclosure. To my suppress the male began courting the female a few short hours after I cleaned the enclosure... I am slightly confused as to what is going on and would like to know if I should remove him, as I visually confirmed that copulation took place? I have heard that a male breeding after a female has conceived could risk everything. And what do you take on the semen plug?? Please let me know what your think. I have not witnessed an ovulation or any sheds that would co-inside with one, if it helps...
Thanks for your time

Males will copulate the females several times in a season. If you have not witness a ovulation leave him in there. Sometimes the males stop courting the females for a couple of days just to take a break. When she is done your male will you know most of the time usually after the pos. Mine try to get out of the cages day and night i still leave them in the for a couple of more days just to make sure..

If you pull him out to early you might just get a bunch of slugs.. Leave it up to them they know what they are doing..:yesnod:

I hope this helps

I agree with Nicole, just leave him in there. Sperm plugs are a good sign that your male is in active breeding mode. I usually leave my males in for at least a few weeks after they have stopped showing interest which usually means the ovulation has already occured. As Nicole pointed out if you pull him out too early you may get unfertilized eggs. He might not have had the chance to get enough sperm in her.

Hey thanks for the advice guys... I do appreciate everything and will leave him in until I at least see a shed.... I was under the impression that a male could over breed and stress the female out too much... Remarkably, I witnessed another full copulation tonight just minutes ago... Thanks so much
