    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Brendan Tighe Cold Blooded Cages

I recently ordered a Herpstat from Brendan & it got here super fast. I couldn't be happier with my order with Coldblooded Cages :thumbsup: I sincerely hope everything was cleared up for the OP though.

Glad you got yours. I ordered one from him off an add on here and never got it. It was promised to be in stock (I called and talked to him) and delivered on a certain date he didn't have it and never shipped it (Even though I got a notice that it shipped). I ended up getting it directly from spider robotics who were great to deal with. He did at least he refund my money. But I would never order anything from him again.
 
Shortly after I posted this thread, I saw Brendan at the Hamburg, PA show and talked to him about the missing cage. He made clear to me that I would never get the missing cage, or the refund in lieu of the missing cage, that he promised. He said I wouldn't get either the cage or the refund BECAUSE I posted this BOI thread. I pointed out that I only posted the BOI thread AFTER I didn't get the missing cage or the refund in the 5 or so months prior that he had promised to deliver, so, unless he could see into the future, he had no reason to not follow through well before the thread was posted. The conversation basically led nowhere, he called me a crude name and I walked away. That was our last contact.
 
Good riddance!! Nothing pisses me off more than a business that welches on making things right because a thread was started in the BOI. He should have made it right in the first place! Some people don't have the common sense when determining what will help or ruin their business. A bad guy thread can be positive if you come in here and do what's right, but some people are content with making things worse. I for one, will repeat this story every time that name is mentioned.

Exactly. In my opinion, was going to scam you out of that cage anyway,( and just wanted to hurt you by rationalizing that he was doing it because of this thread. He is a low life.

Well, If you do a Google search for 'Cold Blooded Cages', he's currently the fourth hit for this BOI thread.
If you do the same search for 'Brendan Tighe' this thread pops up to the top.
 
Having seen the quality of his cages at a show and speaking to him at length what I got was he was not a guy to deal with. Strike one was that the racks I wanted would take 4-6 weeks to be ready, strike 2 was the delivery fee which was way inflated, and strike 3 was the way he acted as if my questions weren't worth his time. I bought RBI racks and have never looked back.

So he makes promises that he can get cages done in a certain amount of time. Then flat tells you after the cage delivery is way overdue that you come second. Then, because you speak up for yourself here, you say he is punishing you by refusing to give you the last cage or your refund.


It looks like he has some various items up for sale in the classified here right now. Hopefully people will realize that not only does it appear from this thread that he doesn't do what he says he wil do, but also that he is vindictive to those who speak up.

There are good sellers who make nice cages and deliver on time, and are not vindictive. Why would anyone buy cages (or anything else) from him after reading this thread, I don't know.
 
I too have had bad dealings with this guy. I ordered a Herpstat that I was promised was in stock and it was never shipped. He then proceeded to hold my Paypal money hostage for two weeks until he finally refunded me and said he could not get any in stock. I wish Herpstat would expand on it's distributorship and take this guy off the list. Great product, poor distrubutor.

I too would like to hear what he has to say about this poor service he gave. According to Sonja, the OP, he knows the thread is here because she says in a post above (#23) that he denied her the last cage or a refund because she posted this thread.
 
Brendan has known about this thread since it was posted. See post #13. He read the post for about an hour immediately after I originally put it up and sent him a link, but has never responded.

Brendan Tighe, You seem to be taking full advantage of the free classifieds offered by the site. You seem to have taken advantage of the OP as well. You have seen the thread, and not seen fit to reply.

I can understand not giving you something extra because he is pissed, but not giving you what you paid for makes him a THIEF!
 
Brendan is managing to answer (today) a classified question about some cork flats he is selling, but it seems like he has totally ignored and evaded his responsibilities here. I for one would avoid ever doing business with Reptiles Express of which last I heard he is a partner, because from what I've seen here, if things go south he isn't going to take responsibility. I would not entrust my reptiles to a business run by him.

I did have a purchase go bad with Scott. USPS lost his first shipment. Does not happen very often but in this case it was lost. I explained to Scott the problem and he was asked if he wanted a refund or a replacement shipment. He went with a refund and his money was returned as soon as we filed the claim with USPS. I also recommended Bean Farm, Boa Master or direct to Spyder to get his unit if he did not want me to re-ship. In the 2 years we have been selling HerpStats USPS has only lost 2 shipments. 1 was found and delivered 5 days late. Unfortunately Scott's was lost and has not been found.


I will respond to this only once as I have already told Sonja in person that she will not receive anything more from me. I did promise I would give Sonja 8 cages in 2-4 weeks. She then added 4 more. That did not happen as planned and is my fault. I gave her a price that was under my cost and included free delivery to her house. I did this because she was an employee of Outback Reptile and I have no problem helping out friends or other vendors at the shows we attend and its good to have other trade persons using your products. I would never expect someone giving me something at there cost to take care of me first. We are a small company and our cages are all hand built and have a very complicated and time consuming finish. We did have a major problem with our finish that has now been corrected by reformulating our clear coat. I had a lot of things going on at the time that unfortunately took priority over Sonja's cages. We welcomed our daughter River into the world that took a lot of time away from building cages and all other activates, personal and business. We had a complicated pregnancy and after we lost our first daughter Emily from pre-term birth the previous year I was not going to leave my wife's side. My wife and River was my top priority during this time and I would never go back and change that. If my cost to have a healthy daughter and wife is a Bad Guy Thread I will gladly pay the price. I told Sonja I needed to take care of my customers that paid full price before I could finish her cages. I am sorry it took so long to get all of her cages to her and for my broken promises. Our customer do have positive things to say about our service and products:
