In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello,
I bought this male ball python from BRHERPER on reptileauctions the other day, I got it really cheap, first he said shipping would be around 45, then when I won the snake for 1 dollar, he said the snake shipped was 60 dollars. That started this mess. The snake arrived this morning, with a very bad respiratory infection, the snake can hardly breath, mouth open and all. Luckily for the snake, I have the proper antibiotic, to treat him. I just figured Id let you guys and girls know, I saw he just sold a few more snakes on there, and there is probably more to come. Here is the link to the auction page.

I dont know how to do the screen shots, to include them on this post, They probably arent necessary though, If someone feels they are, please explain to me how to do them, or just throw them up there for me. Thanks alot.

If he tried to overcharge you [DID you pay it?] that would have been the first red flag.

yeah I paid it, because after I did shipping quotes myself they were pretty high, So I said fine, it was only a little more anyway. That wasnt to big of a deal. The problem now is I have a sick snake, which I have to treat. I get enough of them in my rescue, I dont need to buy one for myself, and have it sick too.

Here is a screenshot. Have you notified the seller that this thread exists? How did you pay for the auction, PayPal? If the seller won't do anything to rectify the situation, you've got to leave negative feedback on the auction site.

Be sure to report it to the Admin at the site you got it from. I know they're trying to clean things up over there and will want to know about this guy.

Actually, the shipping fee may be enough to dispute with PayPal (perhaps for getting back the $20some difference).

Wow. I placed a bid on his het albino at the same time your auction was going. I was outbid in the final minutes, so I guess I lucked out by not winning him, huh? I did notice last night that he was up for sale again fairly quickly, so I'm wondering what was up with that. I'm thinking my $50 wasn't enough, so he used another name to "win" the snake, and then reposted. It's odd for a sale to go down that fast. Sorry to hear about your bad transaction, though.

Yeah I am going to contact the site about it, Hopefully they will do something, Bad feedback for him is on its way, hopefully no one else gets stuck with something like that. I am going to notify paypal, but I am not sure if they will do anything, but I guess its worth a try. The seller hasnt reponded to me since I received the snake, he emailed me last night and said he might be out of town for the weekend. so Im assuming he aint around, or he just knew what was up, and doesnt want to deal with this. Thanks for the screen shot, I dont know how to do that yet.

Most reptile auctions seem to be the $.99 stores

of the reptile industry, which is why I do not even log onto any, much less bid on anything on an auction site. I think there have been so many problems using them, that if you actually bid $1 for a Ball, you should expect problems. I am not saying getting a good deal is a bad thing, but how good is it to win an auction, pay for shipping, and get an animal that probably could not sell on a classifieds site. Just not worth it. You probaby should have seen a problem before sending your money.

On your keyboard is a button that says "Print Scrn/Sys Rq." It should be on the top row of keys to the right of your F# keys.

Press this button when you want to capture what's on the screen. Open Paintbrush, or anything in which you can paste an image to, and paste it (ctrl+v). I like using Paintbrush because you can easily resize the image so it doesn't flood the screen when you post it.

Hope this helps.

I wasnt buying this to resell, I was buying this for a pet for my little brother. He is into snakes, but I wont allow him to handle mine they are too big, and I have a few female bps, as well as a male, so I figured Id get him his own. I am helping him with it of course, but Its a good starter snake for him. Ive bought a few things already off of the site that were a dollar, and came just fine. Some p[eople will list it, thinking that it will go up and it never does. With all that said, no I saw no problem with it.

FYI, this guy (Steven/Stephen Fisher) has been booted/banned from ReptileAuctions at least 5 times that I am aware of. Here are the user ID's that he has used so far as I am aware of:

1) "Slitherinsteve" as of February 2005. This is when I had the misfortune of attemtping to complete a transaction with him myself. The transaction never went through for several reasons, which I can post about if anyone really cares.

2) "Reptilianman" in early March 2005. He used this ID to "purchase" an animal from "Slitherinsteve" and he even made sure that he left "Slitherinsteve" (HIMSELF) positive feedback! The feedback states: "Contacted me after auction ended. Animals in perfect health. Couldnt ask for more. Great Seller!!!" Wow, isn't that nice, he contacted HIMSELF after the auction and liked his own animals he purchased from himself. Yep, I bet they arrived quickly too! The ReptileAuctions Webmaster confirmed they were the same person and banned him for bidding on his own auction/giving himself good feedback.

3) "Ballp8141" in early March 2005 (user ID was created and listing things for auction the day after the other 2 names were banned and removed). I had a strong suspicion that this was the same person again. I contacted the Webmaster about it. Again, confirmed to be the same person, again banned.

4) "Skeeper8141" in late March 2005. I figured this out when he posted the SAME snake with the exact SAME photo and exact SAME description as he had posted as "Slitherinsteve" about a month earlier. I e-mailed the Webmaster of ReptileAuctions about it, the Webmaster confirmed that it ws the same and banned him, again.

FYI, All of this can be confirmed with the Webmaster of ReptileAuctions.com. I also still have all of the e-mails that went back and forth between myself and the Webmaster of ReptileAuctions.com where I helped the Webmaster catch this guy playing his games and generally acting in a "less than honorable" manner.

5) "Xoticreptiles22" in mid-late 2005. By Mr. Fisher's own admission in another thread here on the BOI, this is him, and he admitted to getting kicked off ReptileAuctions with this name.

6) "BRHERPER" is now what he seems to be known as on ReptileAuctions. I believe the person who started this thread can confirm that Steven/Stephen Fisher is the person who sent him the sick ball python in question.

There may be other User ID's that I am not aware of. I lost track of things for a long time there due to Hurricane Katrina and am just now really starting to get back into reptiles. I hate to see that people like this are *still* trying to hang around and doing awful things like sending people very sick snakes.

Still no sign of this guy, Thanks all, for the info, I will keep you posted. I wish I would have did this research before I bought this snake. Oh well. Cant change it now. I notified reptileauctions, and bad feedback is on its way for him right now, I guess its a waiting game now.

User banned

The user has been banned from reptile auctions, until he reappears again. They just emailed me and told me he was banned.

I don't understand why Reptile Auctions doesn't just block his IP from accessing the site. His past history suggest that he will simply reincarnate himself with another user name.

From what I understand, they have banned his IP every single time, but he somehow keeps signing up from different computers and/or has one of those IP addresses that keeps changing (sorry I do not recall what it is called when an IP address keeps changing). I have heard there are different ISP's that offer service to where your IP address changes several times a day/week or something. It also IS possible to cvhange your IP address if you know how to do so. Also, you can do something like signing up for an account from a different computer, like at a public libarary or a friend's house. There are ways around their system, but I can guarantee that he will be caught every time. I just hope no one else gets the worse end of a deal when he reappears, beofre he is caught again.

It's really sad that there are so many people like this who continuously ruin ReptileAuctions reputation. There ARE a lot of VERY VERY GOOD Sellers and Buyers on ReptileAuctions (eg. Mike Greathouse/ReptilianDreams, Bobby Vanyard, BCI Joe, Joe Pierce, etc.).

Seller reponded

The seller responded today, He says he is going to send a full refund tomorrow? Wether he does or not, we will see tomorrow. If he does, I guess maybe he is turning himself around, As he stated in an email, he made bad decisions when he was young on that site, and is now trying to do things right. He is also aware of this post, I dont know he he will respond on here or not though. I will let yous know tomorrow the status of this

Seller made good

Okay guys and girls,
Hes not as bad as everyone thought he was. I think his past has come back to haunt him, and he is trying to do good now. He said he truly didnt know it had a breathin issue? I picked it off in the first few minutes of taking the snake out of the box, but maybe he isnt experienced in snake illness. He sent the refund today, and it is pending in my account right now. The bottom line is no matter how much of a scumbag everyone thinks he is, or maybe he has been, he is working to fix his past now, by doing the right thing on these sites, which he stressed to me in emails. Take it how you want to, but hes okay in my book, now that he has made good on the bad deal.

I still think my auction was rigged. Sniped in the final minutes, only to have the same animal reposted less than two days later? Hmmm.. Yeah. He's on my "do not buy from" list for sure.
