In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Brian Rogers (bayedncaught)

Ok to get back on topic...Jessica, has Brian been in contact with you and have you received any confirmation that the animal is on it's way or plans to that affect? He was on here sept. 18th at 1am so he's still active on the site, any news?

It's always the ones that start the banter, that put up the "let's stay on topic" posts.. Every thread.. Its almost like they are of the opinion it's ok for them to disagree with you but if you disagree with them and defend how you feel - how dare you have an opinion - let's stay on topic!" I'm not the one starting the posts about jessicas premature decision to title this thread a bad guy thread. That's off topic right there. The topic is that Brian has her snake and had failed to communicate with Jess for 3 weeks. How does ppl opinion about whether 3 weeks was ample time between communication to start a bad guy thread have anything to do w the topic of this thread?

Time to stop the interpersonal bickering...and, as usual, ongoing discussion about the merits of the chosen title are really irrelevant. The title is not going to change, the point is made after a post or two, and the back and forth simply adds to the disruption.

This is what I would like to know as well.
Brian stated that he was going to send your snake back but ... has a definite ship date been given?

I have not heard from him since. I called the hardware store today and they said that he left in the middle of the night, leaving no information behind. So he moved, most likely to Florida, as two sources have stated... I guess I'll have to just keep trying to locate/contact him. Thanks for the help everyone. Hopefully he will be tracked down, one way or another.

Actually Natalie you seem to be the one arguing. I stated my opinion and it is just that my opinion. Then you post several times an attempt to point out how I am incorrect in my opinion. That's a lot like arguing to me.

Would I be concerned and upset if I had an animal in someone else's care and it appeared that I've lost contact with that person. Sure I would. But it would take more than a few weeks of non-communication for me to stick a "bad-guy" label on someone here. This again is my opinion and no matter how many times you post, it won't change. So you can relax.

This certainly takes it up couple of notches. Good luck.

I apologize if my posts were defensive - I just had a gut feeling he was going to do this..I am sorry if I got off topic.
Jess - do you or anyone else think that maybe Brian lied to the hardware store and they are protecting him? Maybe he told them a bogus version of the story and they think Jess is a crazy girl trying to steal from him.. The hardware store may have told Jess that Brian left to keep her from having ppl from fauna or the police go to the store to try to retrieve the snake..
IMO - if the ppl who originally volunteered are still game, they should still go to the store with a copy of the contract and a notarized statement from jess allowing them to remove her snake and try to figure this out if possible..
And Jess - you may want to prepare to go to Ohio if that's a possibility - the cops will be more willing to escort the actual owner than a representative of the owner to remove the snake..
Again, maybe the hardware store doesn't know the dispute is about a snake and if the landlord finds out brians spot will be blown up, so to say lol.
Just a thought..

If what you say is true, (not that you're fibbing, but on the other end maybe) then that would indicate to me, the lack of correspondence was intentional, and hightailing it in the middle of the night supports the idea he never intended to return the snake to begin with.

I'd be attempting to get hold of the law in his area, and see about some help, or at least a report filed. I'd mail them copies of all the emails and PM's exchanged, the addresses and phone numbers you've called, and even print his post where he said he was going to return the animal. After you print that stuff, call and let them know you'll send what evidence you have.

We haven't had the best of luck when it comes to help from the law involving reptiles, but they do occasionally come through.

I just received a pm from him stating that he works every day until the 29 and so he will send him out then. I replied asking him to keep in touch every couple days since that was the main issue. Hopefully he will pull through, but I am still going to try to get as much info on him as possible just in case as I really don't want to lose my guy.

I'd love to be wrong, but aren't you being a little naive? He quit communicating until we posted some info about him, then he leaves in the middle of the night after agreeing to send the animal, leaving no forwarding info, and you're gonna give him another 10 days before shipping, and only want contact every other day?

Sounds a little too trusting to me, for the amount of red flags that have shown up in this thread.

I just received a pm from him stating that he works every day until the 29 and so he will send him out then.

So he suddenly evaporates, finds a job so demanding that he can't take a few hours to arrange shipping for ten days, and has put you on the back burner until then.

I hope the best for you.

If the people that live by him are willing, you should see if he will let them pick the snake up and then pay them to ship him back. And I Totally agree with Lucille here..
The 29th is a long time to give him, plus the 29th is a Thursday so I wouldn't want him shipped that late in the week..

You just need to say "send my snake back NOW or I am going to get the law involved." And then get the police to go with someone and get it back. I would NOT be ok with every couple days contact. I would want day by day contact till my snake was back in my possession.

You should take up someone on their offers of help to get him back to you. God you don't want him harming your snake because of overbreeding....and I KNOW you don't want to lose him forever!

I absolutely agree with everyone else that you're being more than a little naive on this matter. His excuse to wait another ten days to ship is CLASSIC stalling technique.

He's obviously getting your messages now. Demand his current address. Demand to know where he's working (if he really is). And make immediate arrangements for Scott or one of these other nice folks that have offered to go out there and get your snake for you. If he's already moved on to Florida, then obviously Scott can't help, but maybe someone else can...there's a LOT of herpers in Florida, too.

You don't even have to be mean about it...just tell him, "Since this is SO much trouble for you, why don't you let me help you? My friend Scott lives not too far away and has agreed to help. Please give me your home and business addresses so we can make arrangements for him to come out there and get the snake. It'll save you a lot of trouble."

I understand and was thinking that as well, but I was just happy that he's been contacting me now. However, I forgot that there are people on here who are willing to ship him as well and since that is the case, I have pmed him to inform him of that so that we can arrange an earlier shipping. Thanks everyone for all of the help and support.
