    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bring on the Lavs... Update

Wow that sucks. I can't believe that odds. Could that het female actually just a normal female? No offense.
 
hey bob, i am very worried about this gene of lavenders, ur odds do not make any sense on this,, u should have aleast 3 la's in that clutch, i have never heard of getting bad odds on a morph x het anywere that i can remember...were u sure that was a true het or a possible,, not saying ur wrong, this is just crazy to here on odds of a dice roll...well, wait till i post my update about my possible lavender clutch,,i will just say,, maybe next year if i missed the odds like you.....it looks like u and me are having bad odds or luck this year,,,i am thing on buying a rabbits foot and like to see a falling star with it in my hand for some serious luck....mark

It's just as possible to get all hets as it is to get three of each or all Lavs or any other combination. It should average out to three and three, but each egg is a coin toss. :-/ I know someone who, last year, put a normal with lots of different co-dom males (some multi-co-dom) and got an entire clutch of normals. So it happens sometimes. Which sucks big-time.
 
For every bad clutch of crappy odds, you'll get one that is so amazing it will make your head spin!!!

Look at the bright side, you know they are true 100% hets. They're alive and not dead. And so far completely healthy.

You can hold back all the females. Next season breed your lav male to a few morph females. Keep the female codom/dom hets and one male from each clutch. By the time your het lav females are up to size the co dom/dom het males will be as well. So you can breed those males to the females and use your lav male to back it up!


I can totally understand where you would be upset, I would be as well. But look on the upside of things.

I bet the next clutch you pip this year (if you have any more in the inc) will make up for everything. Good luck and hope this cheers you up a bit!!
 
I know someone here that has a proven het albino female that has produced visuals in the past that also threw all hets when paired to a visual male albino this year. Those types of odds suck but I wish you lots of luck for the remaining clutches. Its too bad you cant call a redo like in some games like dominoes and spades when that happens!! LOL
 
Thanks for all the comments, there wont be any clutch this year that could make up for this one, I had to shut my breeding season down early because of a bad RI. As for the female I did not produce her so I cant be 100% sure she is a het all I know is that is what she was sold to me as. Thats the worst part about this is I dont know if I got crappy odds or screwed. Im not going to bring any names into this but it wasnt a purchase from a nobody, so its a very good chance of terrible odds.
 
I know exactly how you're feeling Bob, that 'not knowing for sure' sensation is a real mood killer. I'm sure things will turn around for you though. You've got healthy babies there, certainly a good thing.
 
Thanks John. I all ways try to look on the bright side of things, but this season has been an absolute nightmare. I have a couple exciting pairings for next year, and hopefully the snakes gods will be REALLY good to me.

Think and be positive,the odds can turn 180 degrees in a new season and give you more than you ever expected.
Hopefully you just missed out on the odds with her and will have good luck with the lav project next season.
