    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

What do you guys do to lower the temp of your kingsnakes for hibernation? I'm in the midwest, and I don't have an unfinished basement, and the only garage I have access to reeks of chemicals/gasoline. I've thought about building an enclosed rack with a small A/C unit on a thermostat or a wine refridgerator, but I wanted to see what other people do. Thanks

I'm in a condo, so I don't have a basement, and my kingsnake partner has a finished basement that is the warmest area in his house. I had some success putting corns right against a window during the winter, but I'd rather not do that. I would onlly need to cool 5 snakes, and not until next year, We just like to plan ahead with stuff like this. Any other ideas?

I'm going to shut off heat in the snake room, and crack the window.
It drops into the 40s outside here in winter (30s at night) so that should bring the room into 50s.

No, it will go from 45 to -10 in a 36 hour period here. I tried it one year for a few days and the room dropped way down and there was a half foot of snow on my drafting table. It was in the 40's when I decided to crack the window.
