I found like 3 or 4 little bugs in my snake tank water dishes, where do they come from and how do i make sure they're gone? i already changed all the aspen that was in there, but im not sure if thats enough

Can you elaborate on "little bugs"? Is it possible they are mites? Maybe gnats that were in the tank and drown?

If they're mites, you'll need to treat the snake. If they're somehow little critters that got in the tank, then changing the water and substrate and starting over should do the trick.

Any additional info you have on what the bugs looked like will help.

Good luck!

An odd occurrence that happened to me. Some time ago, I had a snake defecate in a water tub, so I immediately took it out and cleaned it, but I did not return it to the cage that night for some odd reason. The next morning the tub was covered, I mean completely disgustingly cover with little bug larvae. These little things wee awful to remove too, I first tried soap and hot water, than Reptile Relief, I got to the point where I pulled out a bottle of boric acid. I covered the tub with it and after about a half our I ran them under hot water and they finally came off.

I have never had that happen before and I have not had that happen since. I am so happy I did not return it to the cage, which I always do right after I clean the tubs. Odd.

I'd say they were about the size of a little red fire ant, nothing too small though, just visibly noticable. if they come back after a substrate change and tank wash, ill take pics, hopefully that wont happen.
