    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well im going to venture into this on the next paycheck due to tanks tanking up way to much space was thinking 5 of them 4foot long 2feet deep 20 inches tall. My thing is the heat. Im going to run a light strip on the inside to have the incloser viewable. Ive never went with heat tape before so might be dumb questions. Will this be safe laying with plywood on oneside and bedding on the other? and what would I use to hold this down I will be housing blue tongues and other lizards that like to dig. Sorry for all the questions

No. Flex watt is not rated for direct contact with wood. When used to heat flooring it is installed on a cement backer board or a layer of thin set when installed on Ditra not directly on the sub-floor. Your safest bet is to order radiant heat panels. If these are out of your budget you can install porcelain light bases with ceramic heat emitters in the enclosure. With terrestrial lizards you could probably get away without a cage around the heat bulb. Make sure to install a junction box in the top of the enclosure and any wire within the enclosure should be in a liquid tight conduit. If you use a heat panel make sure to install a grommet wherever the cord exists the enclosure.

Seal the interior plywood with shellac and caulk the joints with 100% silicone caulk. You can install vinyl stick on tiles or melamine on the enclosure floor and 3-6 inches up the side to facilitate easier maintenance. I prefer maple or poplar for the face frame of the enclosure but you can use other materials such as white oak (preferable over red oak due to it's natural resistance to moisture related decay), walnut, locust (iron wood- naturally resistant to decay as well as wood destroying insects, but hard on blades and shaping equipment), spruce, pine, fir hybrid pine or southern yellow pine. Avoid pressure treated woods. These are treated with ACQ or borates which may be harmful to the inhabitants.
