    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

We're raising our own rats and rabbits for our reptile rescue, and have been looking for sources for bulk rat and rabbit food. We've found a few sources online, but the shipping costs are more than the cost of the food. Does anyone know of places where one can find it with better shipping costs or that I can just pick up locally (I live in the Central Florida area).

Rats will eat anything. you could go to restaurants and put your own dumpster and request them to only put vegetables in there just for the rabbits. I used to work in a restaurant and we did that for this dog kennel, and it was not a hassle at all, people enjoyed doing it.

No offense but I definitely would not recommend feeding them restaurant scraps that would be a terrible mess, may not give them proper nutrition and could even make them sick. Rabbits get diarrhea easily from too many vegetables or questionable foods.

Rabbit food is cheap in 50 lb. bags from Tractor Supply, or any local feed store. Hay can be bought at farms for a couple bucks a bale to supplement the pellets.

Rat food you will probably not see on many feed store shelves but most can order it for you if you just ask. A quick google searched showed you have http://www.kissimmeevalleyfeed.com/animalfeed.htm in your area - they are a Purina dealer so should be able to get you Purina Rodent Diet 5001 http://labdiet.com/pdf/5001.pdf or a similar diet easily.

If you can't get the bulk rat food look for a cheap brand of dry dog food with a good protein content (Wal Mart Hi Pro) they will eat that readily. Avoid foods that have dye added if possible.
