In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I can not understand how a bee can be sold for $350 why breed at all if your going to give them away really a double co-dom for the price of a single gene animal. whats next spiders for $50 pastels for $20 why bother with balls by the time you breed a lot of the stuff there in the toilet. What do you all think about these new prices.

The economy effects a lot of the prices your seeing not a lot of people are buying and the ones that have snakes they produced need to move them even if it's at a low price!

It sucks big time but its all about supply, demand and quality. Are all factors in pricing..

If there's a big supply available and much to choose from, males and females, low quality and high quality. Which in such makes the demand on them much lower. So prices drop. Also depends on how fast the seller wants to move the snake. Prices drop for a quicker sale.

If any of my girls offspring compare to her, they def will be priced at top market value or they stay. I would gladly pay hundreds more for a quality snake of the same morph, rather than just getting the gene and saving money. That's the problem. Everyone wants a deal. Well the deals are usually from the low quality animals.

I was pretty surprised to see female bees listed at that price as well. But with anything, it all comes down to supply and demand. There seems to be a very high supply of bees, with very low demand right now.

And those pics of my bee suck btw, she's like neon yellow or something. I hate cell phone pics. I need a new camera lol.

Last year I had a hard time selling my bees for $350 and they were selling like crazy the year before for $800. My bees were really nice too. I just think there are too many of them on the market and too many breeders out there. If anyone thinks they are going to get rich off breeding and selling snakes they are dreaming, that is why it makes more sense to breed as a hobby and hopefully make a little money on the side to help support the hobby. Most of the people that make money at this have been working at it a long time to get to where they are at today. Just my opinion on the whole thing:D

How many of those bees that are selling for $350 will end up looking like a regular spider as an adult? Very rarely do I see an adult bee (or lemon blast for that matter) that looks like anything more than just a nicely colored spider.

Wow Kelly best older bee i have ever saw.... *DROOOOOOOOOOOLING*

Lol, thanks!!

:iagree:

A snake is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, not the price tag put on it. That's why I love this hobby. Nothing is for sure or guaranteed. Odds, price, sex, how many eggs you get. Its not up to you. You can't control it.

There's also the fact that most people getting into the hobby of breeding ball python morphs starts out with the least expensive options for a bright colored snake. That means pastel and spider(both lower cost animals) to produce bees(which are eye-catchingly bright colored morphs). So more new breeders are offering more bees, so they're more common.

Prices drop the more common the morph. If no one is buying at a higher price, the price gets lowered. It's how the 'game' works. If you buy the newest morph offered, you'll pay a super high price. Then you'll take 2-3 years to raise it(if it needs a female) and so when you finally have hatchlings to sell, the price has dropped dramatically since the morph is now 2-3 years old, and thus other people have been breeding and offering them, in addition to the original breeders continueing to breed and sell from the original animals.

As far as the topic, it IS sad to see people devalue their own investments...but that is what they do. If more people exercised both quality and quantity control, the price drops would be much less pronounced. Instead, people breed indiscriminantly, and many "hobbyists" produce far more animals than they are willing/able to care for. Selling them quickly is both a goal and a necessity for them...which, of course, speeds the descent of the prices.

Further, far to many people jumping into breeding focus on cost over quality. Whether they don't understand, or just don't care, the concept of getting what you pay for is lost. Buy the cheapest example of morph A, regardless of appearance, and breed it to the cheapest example of morph B (or 5+ normal females that won't compliment morph A; but, hey, they'll make babies).

I agree with Kelly on how quality becomes a factor. There are more people than you think that are willing to pay top dollar for a gorgeous morph. People thought I was crazy for paying $350 for a hatchling mojave. Honestly? Kelly and I may have the prettiest mojaves out there, in our respective opinions of course. She's either mistaken for a lesser/butter or a pastave. I'm willing to pay more money for a good looking snake than save money for a low quality one. But that's just me. ;)

Here she is at 619 grams today. She's my most prized snake in my collection.

The selective people are few and far between, most people want to get into breeding as fast as possible and don't care how nice there animals are as long as the animal can produce some babies. This only hurts those of us who are selective on what we buy.

I agree. We definitely paid more for our animals then the average price. However, when it comes breeding time, our hatchlings will be oh so nice :)

I love the ongoing mojave pride war. But guess what?! Mine is better than all of yours! haha, j/k. I really enjoy the quality mojos that have been posted the past few days. Quality>quantity for sure :)
