• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Business Cards

If you do it with guides and whatnot the way that Ryan described you should be able to print on a regular sheet of paper to make sure everything is lined up properly...I've had to print things that way (although I think it was in word or works...not photoshop) before and never screwed up if I remembered to make sure everything was lined up first.

but I'm sure one of them gave me the option of saving at 600dpi or higher if I remember correctly.

Just increasing the resolution will not work. The original file must be at least 300dpi. When you just increase the resolution, the pixel dimensions increase.

I was pretty much thinking that wouldn't have worked, so I went ahead and rescanned the photos and started from scratch, everything at 600dpi. The snakes I super imposed onto the card actually looked better at the lower resolution, because the higher resolution shows the imperfections of my not so skilled work of editing out the background from the original photos. Hopefully I can just tweak things around and see what looks best. Thanks

not sure how to do it on those programs, my migrographx draw has a businuss card feature that you plug in your paper stock number and it does it all for you.
Yeah, I was gonna say it must be a PITA to do it the manual way. My program has 100's of preformated templates. Everything from return address labels, and shipping labels, to business cards (even folding ones), to pamphlets, etc. just match up the stock number, and you're set to go. Luckily my printer feeds straight enough that I was able to do two sided business cards, and they matched up almost perfect.

HEY NOW!

I'm still waiting for our new business cards! Get to it! Chop Chop!

lol, j/k :raspberry

Some very nice work............

here Chris

I had to scale this way down it was built at 600dpi. Everything is movable as it is a psd file.

Jeanne,
Rather than doing all the confusing stuff you may want to just upload your design and have your cards printed. It is pretty cheap and the quality will be much better than the type you print out. Let me know if you are interested. I have used the same on line company to print 1000's of professional cards. It is pretty much as easy as uploading the photo, proofing it and paying.

What company do you use? I have tried Vistaprint and onother one (Forget their name) but when I upload the card it never matches their layout.

These guy have some awesome cards. I also recommend the u/v coating really makes the card come to life! Email me if you have any problems. I have a business account with them.

I tried uploading it, but they don't support PSD(photoshop) files

Here is mine from last year. It is way to plain and the font makes the phone # hard to read. Made it myself and had it printed at a local shop. If anyone wants to take a shot at a new one, have at it. All the new cards and logos popping up are giving me the itch. I was going to redo mine this fall, along with my site. Now I might do it sooner.

Well here is one just playing around for a few minutes. Yours is a bit harder to work off of. I just kept the flame theme.
