In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

ok this is getting out of hand! i have been seeing many posts on craigslist that are really pissing me off and i am starting to wonder if this is buyer ignorance or if its sellers that cant get rid of something so they push it off on someone that doesnt know any better as something else. i have seen listings for rt boas for rehoming that is not rts they are ball pythons, seen ball pythons listed that are rts, seen corns listed that are kings, and kings listed that are corns but this one takes the cake here is the link http://wilmington.craigslist.org/pet/1879482236.html clearly this is NOT a ball python. wtf?! how could someone sell this to them as a ball? why would someone buy something that looks nothing like a ball if its a ball they were looking for? this has got me really pissed. i mean come on people if you want a ball or any other animal (snake, dog, or whatever) at least do enough homework to know what they look like. :shootfoot wait til someone sells them a copper head and tells them its a garter snake. this is the reason we keep getting these laws on our ass. any good respectet seller wouldnt do this but we have enough of the bad ones out there thats pawning off animals he cant sell to people that dont know any better. not saying its all on the seller, people that want these animals needs to do more homework then just what they look like but damn at least know what they look like  i swear i think some people were born just just to go duh huh :ack2:

Definatly looks like someone knows exactly what they have!
He's probably now realizing that he doesn't have the resources to care for this snake (which looks like it will get bigger, not full grown) and he wants to pass this snake off as a full grown ball python to a newbie who wants a beginner snake but doesn't really know what they're doing.
He knows it will usually be easier to sell a small snake like a ball locally, then a larger snake that requires more experience and resources.

Now, unfortunatly, the person who ends up buying this animal, because they haven't done their research, will end up with what will probably turn out to be very large snake, that they will have no idea what to do with.
And that is how we have a thriving population of invasive pythons in the Everglades today, because of people like that guy.
Thanks for the warning!

:iagree: yeppers i think you hit it right on the head. not a problem posting, i used to email the people and tell them what they had was not what they thought it was and well after i emailed 1 about the rt boa post and told him it was a ball and not a rt he turned around and just took the rt off of it and left the boa part so i just started posting a reply ad on cl about it lol. i was going to post one about this misballed ad but someone got to it before i did lol. i try to keep a look out but its soooooooo frustrating :ack2:

From what I see on Cl this could be a full time career you're getting yourself into - someone has to look out for the innocent newbies though. A 'Ball Python" that hits 12 or 15 feet is surely going to end up dumped.

A lot of the posts that hit free online classifieds are pure scam...and many don't originate in the US. The posters don't have the items (or animals) in their possession, and don't care much about accuracy...except to the extent that it helps rope in some unsuspecting contributor.
*I'm not saying that is the case with this ad. One way that helps check on those ads is to run a passage through google - see how many times, and in how many venues, it has been posted.

There are alot of scams on Craig's list.... many of them from Nigeria.... You can usually point these out because it sounds like they don't know what they're talking about..... I honestly dont even use Craig's list... I was looking for a rental house a few months back and three houses I was interested in all turned out to be owned by missionaries living in West Africa... they all wanted to have a Deposit Wired to them for the keys and lease.... They used old adds that had been used earlier
