In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hello all, I am new to fauna but i have been looking at the bps for sale and I really want to buy one. But due to many people having money or snakes stolen as ive read in some of the threads, im asking for tips and reliable sellers to turn to.

If you go to the BOI forum, you can check out vendors and see what purchasers have had to say about their transactions with particular vendors. That is sort of what you are asking here, so just go check it out yourself and you can decide whether a particular vendor is someone you would want to deal with.

Lucille is correct. There are a few extra things you can do to make your transactions a bit easier too. I would suggest asking for current weights and pictures of animals you are interested in. I also try to ask if the seller can provide some reference from other folks on Fauna that have made purchases from them. I would also recommend paying for animals with a credit card (make sure it is an actual credit card and not a check or debit card). This makes it so the payment can be traced and if you happen to get scammed, you can file a dispute with your credit card company.

For the most part, the folks around here are good people. The folks that aren't don't last long. I wish you luck in your animal searching!

Ditto....

I have been buying off of Fauna for pretty close to 10 years now. I have to agree with Josh and Lucille. There are some very good people here, but every once in a while, you have a bad apple (as with anywhere goods are bought and sold). Use the BOI and you should be good. Welcome to Fauna.
