So far I've had a pretty bad experiance with a Mr. Adam Keller who owns this company.

Does anyone else have any experiances with this guy or his company?

Jess:(

Let me clarify...

I am curious if anyone HAS HAD any positive experiances with Mr. Keller??

Cause I'm out to sue him to some degree. See because of his cage desighn, my poor girl got a "gourment" wedged into her side and now there is a very deep imprint.

I'm hoping I wont need to call a vet and if that's the case I will try and get Mr Keller to pay for the bill if it so happens.

Also a gourment, how he stated, was a plastic tube almost, so you can wire things inside the cage easier. Well my female ball somehow squeezed through a hole, like a nickle size and then got the plastic wedged into her!

Also there was several exscapes due to this cage design.

If anyone has questions, I'll be glad to clarify.

I am a little worried about her but she seems to be fine.

Forgot...

This gourment thing...I was never advertised as unsafe or any possiable precosions(sp?) I should take to insure the safety of my snakes.

As I see it, this is false advertisement??

I need to know if anyone has any feedback or has bought from this guy.

Thank you,
Jessica Bruce

Have you notified the owner of the company that you have posted this on the BOI. I would like to hear what he has to say aboout this "gourment". Also what is a "gourment". I have never heard of this. Just because these was no mention of precautions that you should take does not make it a false advertisement if the designer of the cage felt that the cages were safe.

IMHO

I think the gourment is actually a gromet used to trim a hole thru finished materials sort of like the holes in a computer desk to wire thru

I thought that was what she meant by "gourment". Anyway back to the subject at hand. I have dealt with Adam Keller before and I have never had a problem with this grommet. I also contacted Mr. Keller in regards to this post, here is his reply:

First of all, in order for this part to be unsafe you have to install it
improperly. It is a part similar to what you would see on a computer desk to
keep cords managed. The only way it could possibly come out is if it is in
backwards. Many other cage companies sell the same part. I have never had a
credible complaint about this part, and we have sold thousands of them.
Second, we have a new part that will be out in about 4 weeks that is our own
design that will be impossible to pop out even if it is in backwards, it is a
2 part system rivited together. It is a 3" cord grommet and vent in one.
Please post my reply to your site.

general observation

I think it would be appropriate if cages by design would reply in person and not via another person(if he were to reply at all)...

that being said, there seems to be no real, discernable complaint here...at least not intelligible and specific. Though I do applaud the other posters for being able to wade thru some of it.

Based on the posts here(this thread) it wouldn't sway me one way or the other in regards to doing business with cages by design.

Cages By Design Experience

Hi All,
I have read through the posts and wanted to add a few comments.
I have a cages by design cage for my bird, I realize that reptiles are different but I wanted to share my experience with Adam Keller in particular.
I had some assembly problems/issues and suggestions for Adam after receiving my cage. None of the problems I had were of danger to my bird or myself. I was more to the point, giving him suggestions and constructive criticism on the cage and it's assembly and design for birds. He took the suggestions and criticism in stride, and offered to accomodate my problems by replacing some specific pieces of the cage with others that might work better.
To the original poster, I am sorry to hear that your snake had the mishap, as I don't fully understand how the cage was assembled or which one you have, I can't comment on it to help you for the future. I just wanted to let you know that I have had a very positive experience with Adam and Cages by Design. Maybe a different approach to resolving the problem would help?

Regards,
Steve

Steve I agree with you 100%. All I did was email Adam and tell him about this posts. Why he hasn't came on himself I do not know. I just did as he asked me in the email.

Just like Wal mart or target wouldn't post on a forum like this i don't see why Cages By Design would/should.
Businesses get complaints daily and posting here is probably not in their best interest. Not that they are wrong but this isn't the place to address customer complaints. Some of you may feel it is but i think he would prefer to deal with the person one on one like other companies do.
In reading the original post it has numerous spelling errors and seems a bit confusing.
I don't see where they would be liable for her snakes injury and if this person has the monies to sue it wouldn't serve C.B.D. interest to start responding here. If i fall out a chair i could try and sue but who's fault is it that i can't sit in a chair properly. My point being if Jess put the cage together wrong it's her fault the snake was injured. Because her snake escaped several times doesn't mean the cage is flawed. They aren't responsible nor liable for a snakes ability to escape or they're would be alot of lawsuits flying around.
In closing (i hope i covered everything) people need to take personal responsibilty and stop sueing for everything and evrybody. Be big enough to say it was my error. Sorry folks just so tired of people threatening lawsuits for all their problems...

Excellent point! Seems to me that any responsible keeper would spend at least a few minutes inspecting a new cage to determine suitability of purpose and make sure there were no problem areas that could lead to things like the afore mentioned injury.
She should quit whining and trying to blame someone else for her own lack of responsibility.......

Have been away...Sry...Let me clarify..

I have the old CBD model. Not the new ones that came out. Wether or not, in my opinion, the gorrment (or however you spell it) was backwards or diaganal(sp?) for all I care, I was never givin' any specific instructions how to install it, only the cage itself. So for Adam saying, the gorrment was backwards with ever telling directly or in the instructions is like slap in the face and frustrates me alot that I spent all this money that I thought was a quality cage only to find that my snakes can exscape, get injured and the cage itself is wobbly and seems unstable?

What gives??
I would love to get Adam Keller on here and see what he has to say.

About me...

I do respect some statements. This certainaly is the wrong board for customor complaints and I do appologize; and for all the spelling errors. Not a great typer.

But, let me put this in prespective or a piont of view for all of you. If you bought a cage for your growing snakes, an exspensive cage, only to find that it seemed to wobble alot, the seller reccomends an item only to find that you actually dont really need the damn thing and it leads to other "problems", I think you all would be as angrey as me and as frustrated.

As for me and some people telling to stop whining and such, how would you feel if your animal got badly hurt due to a dealers cage design that you had missed information on? I would bet to guess you would feel pretty bad.

No doubt about it. I'd feel pretty bad about an animal getting hurt in a cage of mine. But I wouldn't start whining that the dealer/manufacturer was to blame - I'd blame myself. For not having taken the time or the responsibility to make sure that the cage was safe before I put an animal in it.

Disagreement over the quality of the cage is a separate issue from an animal being injured. If you had issues over the cage quality (because it was "wobbly"), you should take it up with the maker.

But once you chose (evidently after judging the cage to be not to your liking) to put an animal in it, YOU'RE the responsible person - not the manufacturer.

Are CBD's cages a bad design? I've never bought or used one so I don't have a clue as to whether there is a quality issue. But I know a few things about responsibility. And when you put an animal in a cage, it's YOUR responsibility to make sure that it's safe to do so. And if you make an error in judgment you don't blame someone else for the consequences.

But you are. And that's whining.......
