    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I put up an ad for a Mertens Monitor early yesterday, and at 330 am this morning a had Mr Cahl Johnson respond over the phone, he’s from Ohio and offered me a Mertens for 300, which is really cheap for a Mertens. Wondering if anyone has done business with him in the past.
Seems like a nice genuine guy, I just want to be sure so I don’t get burned.
 
The pictures he sent seem legitimate, I reversed searched them and nothing came up. Just a few red flags are coming up.
 
My manner of searching for numbers here is to search for the last four digits first and then only expand if I get no hits.

I am glad this could be headed off before money was sent. :)

He only gave me his name and the phone number. I’llvupload the pictures here in a few minutes. Thanks everybody, guy said he was in Ohio, asked him to send a picture with his number on a flash card, he said he dropped his phone in the pool; I’m like, brother you’re in Ohio, if you dropped your phone in the pool, it’d bounce back up at you. There no way in hell it’s waterlogged
 
Interesting. I put up a wanted ad for a pair of rosy boas, and received a PM from "cynthia455" saying the following:

"Hello are you still looking for adult or subadult pair of rosies snakes contact me for more details and pictures.Text/call me at (646) 450-5243 my email is [email protected]"

Wording sounded strange and so far I have gotten a couple of odd texts from the person. Guess I'll delete those now.

Whoever this Cynthia is, she stole one of my hognose pics of Morphmarket and was trying to sell it.
 
At 4:27 am I received the following message:

Hello are you still looking for Adult male Bismarck Ringed Python contact me for more details and pictures.Text/call me at (646) 450-5243 my email is [email protected]

I saw that the account was banned so I didn't respond. The fact that this person sends messages and makes call in the wee hours of the morning suggests that they are perhaps not in the Western Hemisphere.

Yeah, that was my first thought too. 330 in the morning and the guys in Ohio?? Hell no G.I Joe!
