In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Caiman lizards (dracaena guianensis). Does anybody keep them?

i keep them, cool animals

Hey i was wonder if you guys would recomend a caiman lizard as a pet lizard. More so just for a pet then i project as i have to desire to breed them. I currently keep teugs and have had experiance with a wide range of herps including crocs and large monitor. Its only recently that they seem to be more on the market. I do have the benifit of a buddy of mine working at a zoo that has them, but i rather get a some opinions from people who have had them in their house. Sorry to steal the tread theres just not alot of info on them still and i dont want to get one only to realize its not what i expected.

So i'm guessing a good question to ask before i buy is are the eatting and what are the eatting. I heard some will take rat pups and other normal feeders but some will eat just snails. Have you had a problem feeding yours anything other than snails. I'd have no problem stocking up on snails (already have a small fridge just for feeders more like a regular fridge but still) just where would you get enough snails to feed a camine lizard and how much would a young one eat. All the info my buddy is giving me is one only from one soruce and two about adults.

So far mine are eating zoo med can o snails and ground turkey like no tomorrow. I get the ground turkey roll at wal mart for $1.82 a roll. I am going to try crawfish and smelt. I have not tried pinkies yet.

Pet smart is having a sale on zoomed can o snails right now for $2 a can till the end of the month. Also you can get a big bag of snails at a chinese grocery store for $3 a bag. So it is very cheap to feed these guys.

i had a few others available, just never posted them on my youtube, but yeah that's me.

Wolfpaw, theese guys make excellent captives, if you like tegus, you'll love theese guys.

I've heard of many keepers feeding theese guys all sorts of stuff, but mine have all been picky eaters, and will only take clams, mazuri crocidilian diet, snails and salmon flavored cat food, but for the most part snails, its rather cheap to feed theese guys.
Ive been trying all sorts of different foods, that i hear they eat but no luck.

I'm pretty set in getting one once i get settled back home. Everyone i've talked to loves theres. I keep watching the youtube videos on them and the more i watch the more i want one.

nice looking caimans, if you don't mind me asking where you got him from. He looks really active and healthy.

Also is that your quarintine cage? I noticed there was a "pool" or large water tub and i was just wondering.

He is another one I got from the Peru shipment that came in. Yes he is really active and very hand tame. Well I know for sure this one is a 100% male.

Yes, it is just 55 gallon tank to quarantine him in for a while. I used a plastic rectangular cake pan for a water bowl. I got it at wal mart for $5. It fits just right length wise inside the tank. I am going to put him in his own 125 gallon tank most likely this week.

I just bought a bag of frozen smelt at the grocery store today to try and all 3of mine ate the hell out of it. They loved it.

I someimes also include raw egg, scallops and Mazquri chow for crocs and monitors...I have a water system that easily drains into theproperty next door Ifyou have any specific questions mail me at [email protected]

Rabin, do you have any pictures of your sub adults? I finally took the plunge after getting a two year contract so i won't be moing for awhile. I love the little guy but i want to see what others look like now when they get older.
