In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....
Even after this thread I wouldn't hesitate to go to them to purchase a dragon.

You must be friends with Heidi and Gary, because anyone who has read this thread can clearly see that Calentedragons is clearly the bad guy in this thread.

You wouldn't hesitate doing business with people who falsely represent animals they have for sale, which obviously helps them gain an even larger profit.

You wouldn't hesitate to purchase from people who offer a refund, but then go back on there word and not give one?

Gary, could you imagine purchasing a PC from ebay, and when they send it in the mail, the PC that was in the ad, is not the one that was shipped to you, or has parts in it which are not the parts that were described?
Wouldn't you feel a refund would be in order, including shipping?
Obviously you would, anyone would.

Gary, and Heidi have ruined they're reputation over a measly $400.
I would never ever do business with them after reading this thread.

Anyone who is that pathetic, doesn't deserve my business.

Once again, I wish both Wendy and Jeanne Business partners, and family good luck, and I hope you get your money back in a timely fashion, including shipping.

To Gary, and Heidi I hope you never sell another animal on this site again.

I am not friends with them, nor have I ever done business with them. But like all others on this site, you are entitled to your opinion.

I happen to think that they have some gorgeous dragons, and have heard many good things from other people on another forum I am a member of.

If a person being a "bad guy" in this thread makes you not want to deal with them, then so be it. I have heard too much about their good customer service from others before this thread to not say that I wouldn't consider doing business with them in the future.

That being said, yes they need to give the money back, I am not saying that they don't.

I have to disagree here Zack. I do not think Heidi or Gary are bad guys. I do not agree with the way they have handled this situation but I would not call them bad guys.

Here's a PM that I received from Caliente after making a post about their misrepresentation in ads:

I have apologized for the "totally unrelated" and removed it from our ad. I said it was not my responsibility to prove anything to HER after the purchase. I have access to the import papers and the animals came from reptifit.nl in the netherlands. No-one has ever asked ME where the animals came from. Wendy just said I didn't even know and everyone listens. Please keep this to yourself I do not want to keep defending myself for everything I say. I have kept quite because of law enforcement involvement etc. and I am a busy person but I will end this soon. (At least on my side)

Gary

1) In his own pathetic, reacharound way, Gary admits that the wording of the ad was fraudulent. Great. Is he giving a refund to Wendy, Jeane, or wait, who cares who the money is going to, just send it back!!!!!!!!!!!!

2) How in the WORLD could law enforcement get involved with this? Seriously. What?!?! I'm so astounded about this statement that I can't possibly conceive of how that came into the realm of possibility. I mean, what did Wendy do in this transaction that was illegal? Yeah, she's a despicable human being, but it's not Caliente's job to pursue her legally. They don't have a leg to stand on. If they don't think she's worth their time to refund the money, they shouldn't have taken it to begin with.

3) Gary complains about how "nobody asked him" about this whole situation. Damn. Just, the balls must be scraping the ground on this gentlemen. This is an open forum, am I right? I've read a number of open question throughout this thread, but Gary complains that "nobody asked" him. Well, maybe if he wasn't tied up with make-beileve "law enforcement etc" he'd be posting his own side of the story.

Oh wait, I think he just knows that he doesn't have a leg to stand on. I can't believe this guy's arrogance.

You said you were going to end it Greg, so end it.

You realize it makes you look bad to take a PM from someone where they specifically ask you not to repost it and you post it anyway. Oh wait your involvement in this is no more than my own so i dont think you should feel the need to go on a "covert" mission to get info from Caliente just to try and make them look bad for someone whom you also do not know. Maybe you just need a life or a hobby or something.

I didn't PM them first, they PMed me. Also, the majority of the PM was already posted in their most recent post. I didn't feel like I deserved more info on the topic then anyone else, and since Caliente has such trouble being open about this dealing, then I'll post it for them.

Yeah, they asked me to keep the PM to myself, but I had no obligation to respect that request. I did not PM them saying, "why don't you tell me what's going on and I'll keep it to myself". In fact, the only reason I DIDN'T post it when I immediately got it was the fear of "law enforcement involvement" retaliation upon myself, from a vengeful, spiteful seller.

The fact is, Caliente has not handled this situation with a single ounce of integrity. I will not sit comfortably by while Gary sends me covert PMs implying criminal indictments that are completely unjust and undeserved. You may feel that posting the PM was bad form, but I feel that keeping it to myself would be even worse.

If someone sent you a PM stating they were going to rip someone else off, would you keep it to yourself? I know this situation isn't as black and white as my hypothetical scenario, but I felt as though I were in the same situation: I had no obligation to respect their request as I have zero relationship with either the buyer or seller. I did not say or even imply that I would keep it to myself. Also, Caliente is clearly trying to involve law enforcement, which is completely uncalled for and I'm not going to keep it to myself (even though Gary already mentioned it in one of his earlier posts). If you think I'm a "bad guy" for posting the PM, so be it. But according to my own personal morals, I would've been a bad guy if I had kept it to myself.

The fact that the OP is an ex-con DOES now come into play since she was using someone else's Paypal account. Especially because it seems that the OP isn't in good graces with this account holder any longer. "Ignore her if you can..." doesn't sound good. .

I don't see it that way at all.

They got the money to caliente to purchase the dragons whatever way they could.

I don't think that the method was so important, what I do think is important is that caliente was paid.
Well, taking a look at this from another angle...
PayPal's seller protection (such as it is) is void if the "product" is not shipped to the address on the account. Assuming the latest is true, they shipped to somebody other than the person that purchased. That means Wendy has no claim to that money, nor does Jeanne...but I would think that the holder of that paypal account does - the possible issue being whether Betty is the one that requested the Rankins be sent to Jeanne/Wendy. If she made no clear statement about shipping in her payment, Caliente has nothing to argue about and they should issue a complete refund (including shipping). If she did request shipping to Jeanne/Wendy, it muddies things...but they still failed to ship to the verified address.

And, Mark, drop the porn comments.

Heidi and Gary are some of the best out there. Thats first hand experience.

And whoever added some of those tags at the bottom of the page is either funny, or an idiot......not sure.

Looking at it that way, Betty can file a claim with paypal saying they were not delivered to her and possibly paypal would take the money from caliente's acct and refund Betty. theres a 30 day limit on that.

I will continue to do business with and recommend Gary and Heidi to other people. This transaction could have been handled better, and probably would have gone away if the buyer didn't want to destroy the reputation of a well known breeder. It seems a few phone calls really set the tone for the stalemate, only escalated by the attacks on this thread.

I noted the first day of this thread:

Contentious(my opinion) buyer vs Reputable (my experience) seller

... and who brought bianca trump into this mess:confused:

Jeff

wendy childs aka wendy iwanow is bianca trump
lol
whom is a ex porn star / ex tattoo artist / poster child for needing prozac lol

that aside
i do hope that Heidi and the person whom is actually out the money is able to work things out. I find it quite funny that Wendy used someone elses account and money to purchase animals she decided she didnt want just because she purchased them on an impulse.

Well let's see. Heidi and Gary have the cash, the dragons and are considering reselling them. And who's not bad people?

Calientedragons -... 08-02-2009 08:31 PM calientedragons So your telling them to lie some more.

Gary, Heidi...lets keep it out in the open, you have time to leave messages with karma hits how about both of you taking the time to answer why you have not refunded your customer yet?

Of course I'm not telling anyone to lie some more.

Ya think?

It would have gone away much sooner if Heidi would have refunded like she promised she would. sometimes being stubborn will bite you in the ass.....right Heidi?

That's exactly why I posted the PM I received.
