In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Californians... Your SCREWED!!!!

Rich,

Did you know there is no law that requires a person to pay income tax?

Actually, I believe there is. A BIG one.

Amendment XVI
(Ratified February 3, 1913)

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

Rich,

Did you know there is no law that requires a person to pay income tax?

Sure there is... several hundred of them, in fact. Alex Jones always digs up few nutjobs around tax time to rile people up, but I've not spoken to anyone, ANYONE, who has successfully tried this scam and gotten away with it.

Did you pay YOUR income taxes last year?

Witnesses said there were bombs going off and no planes.

:iagree:

I think the people that witnessed the planes slamming into the buildings that day and the relatives who had loved ones on the planes that died would disagree. I've seen one of those crazy conspiracy videos that claimed the photos of people jumping to their deaths from the buildings were fake too.

Not really.

Property can be confiscated via forfeiture and auctioned off for the proceeds now. You have no right to a trial or warrant prior to the seizure.

You can be stopped on the roadway via traffic stops and have the police demand to see your "papers". You do not have the right to not be detained merely by utilizing the roadways that you paid via your taxes to use.

Your phone and computers can be tapped at will. You have no right to privacy.

You have to pay income taxes, which was not always the case. If you fail to, you can be imprisoned and all of your possessions auctioned off.

Heck, just look at the various laws involving income taxes and try to tell me they are LESS intrusive and burdensome than they used to be decades ago.

Heck, you don't EVEN want me to itemize the various gun laws over the last couple of decades that have completely emasculated the Second Amendment.

Those are all freedoms we have LOST that we USED to have.

Then look at the number of animal laws on the books that have been implemented RECENTLY.

Sorry, but no. Are freedoms are MUCH less than we used to have. It's just that we are just like the frog placed in a bucket with gradually heated water in that we have gotten used to the intrusions on our freedom, and don't even know about most of them.

And yes, I could go on as well........

I see your point of view and understand it. I feel that as the number of citizens increased in our country, these laws were put into place to avoid anarchy and/or chaos. For instance, at one time, there was not a law that stated one has to have a driver's license to drive, but I would imagine that law was put into place when the number of automobiles on the road increased to the point of it being a safety issue.

As far as income taxes go, I lean towards the Libertarian point of view politically and think it should be abolished! There are MANY laws that I do not agree with, and some of them I feel so strongly about that I actively work with others to change them (example animal keeping laws and the marijuana laws).

My point was that as a people, as citizens, we have more rights now than ever before (meaning not only white males with money, but minorities, women, gays, handicapped, etc.).

I don't believe either of us is right or wrong. We just see things differently.

I believe the issue here is that we are looking at the term "rights" in completely different lights. What you are discussing are privileges, in that they have been granted by the government, meaning that they apparently did not exist until the government granted them. And if the government can GRANT them, then there is certainly no reason at all why they can't be rescinded.

I am talking about basic rights inherent to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that are whittled away by permits, restrictions, controls, taxes, zoning, and every other little infringement and restriction at the disposal of government that you can think of. Anything you want to do that requires a permit means you are asking the controlling agency for PERMISSION to engage in that activity. You have NO right at all, since a permit CAN be denied. If you have to pay a fee or tax or fill out some form beforehand, then you can be denied if you refuse to do so. THESE are NOT rights at all.

You cannot get married without a license. You cannot buy land without paying taxes on it. You cannot build a house without a permit. You cannot engage in any business without a multitude of permits and taxes involved. You cannot have a child without having him or her registered with a social security number, which means a form you MUST fill out. Try to buy any goods or commodities and refuse to pay sales tax on them.

I'm sure that even the few things that don't require government approval or taxation beforehand or after the fact probably have some controlling strings somewhere that we are in violation of one way or another and just ignorant of that fact.

Matter of fact, I think you could make a much shorter list simply by trying to come up with a list of ABSOLUTELY INVIOLABLE rights, that cannot be taken away from a citizen, no matter what happens. An honest to goodness RIGHT is something that simply cannot be restricted or taken away from you under ANY circumstances. Seriously try to come up with such a list and see how many items you can come up with.

I'm seriously surprised that even bodily functions haven't been taxed with impact fees..... With all the talk of "carbon taxes", I seriously expected exhaling carbon dioxide to become taxed in some way.

I couldn't see the video, but I agree. Planes DID hit the TT's, but the Pentagon :NoNo:

The people that witnessed planes striking the World Trade Centers were the ones watching the News. No Planes hit struck the Pentagon and no plane was discovered in Shanksville, PA Witnesses in NYC have stated not seeing planes strike the tower but have heard and witnessed explosions from the demolition that took place. It took me a long time and a lot of research to believe that no planes struck the World Trade Center and that it was a media hoax....

I know people that witnessed the second plane striking the towers.

I don't know if it was the group of videos but somewhere I seen footage of the planes nose entering and exiting the Tower. Whether or not a plane was involved the towers including tower 7 were brought down by demolition.

Then continue to squander away your rights.... and in 15 years we will be no better than a communist country.

That brings up an interesting point. What was it about Communism that our armed forces were willing to die in order to prevent the spread of that is all that different from what the USA is becoming?

Im not seeing a whole lot of differences. Our gov is slowing taking away our rights and is making it so they dont have to fear the people. When that happens we will be no better than some dictatorship country. The only difference is we will have politicans that will only listen to the deepest pockets.

Oh wait... we already have those kinds of politicians.

getting off track of the current discussion but bringing this back around to how Californians are SCREWED!

here's a nice little info email that was just passed out at my office (we are a distribution warehouse with truck drivers which is why they passed out this info):

HUGE California Traffic Tickets Fines Effective 01/06/2011

Please be extremely careful in your driving and car registration & insurance matters. State of California is broke and they are trying hard to squeeze all of us hard to collect money.

Effective immediately, if you do not stop at the red light, be ready to pay $436 in fines or if you pass a school bus with flashing red signals, you will be charged $616. The state of California is going for blood, so be extra careful in driving, You cannot afford messing with them. I have been hearing that Highway Patrols are under pressure to issue a lot more tickets than last year with at least 30% increase in fines over 2009, so beware of radar guns, highway and traffic cameras installed everywhere and the tougher enforcement of parking rules.

Just for your info, the next time you park in the handicapped zone, even for a minute, you will be looking at almost $ 1000 in parking tickets , so it'd better be worth it.
