• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Call To All members here....

Extreme serpents are putting together some 30-40 second videos of people explaining there views, you can send these videos to [email protected]

I am wanting to do this but it is very difficult to only have 30 seconds or so. Any ideas would be great!

Making contact

I've contacted both of my Senators. Honestly, Udall's aid didn't seem to care what I thought. I emailed Bennet, as no one there answered the phone.

We will need to make a LOT more noise to avoid this very dangerous precedent.

Come on people there are over 60,000 members. All of use should have joined, opposed, expressed our views!
From there emails, letters, calls

everyone check out this site www.crram.org we are getting everone together to march and rally in Washington at the next hearing. we need all the support we can get

Already a member :D
As many people as possible should join the march.

Last count

17 in favor / 685 opposed

Come on people there are over 60,000 members. All of use should have joined, opposed, expressed our views!
From there emails, letters, calls
So only about 1% of the members here have voted.
Think of the real impact this can have if we have 60,000 + opposed. and we all do are part emails, letters, calls.

Cmon folks! It is time to get off your ass and stop assuming that there are plenty of other folks that will fight this battle for you. YOU make a difference!

Giving USARK their own free area isn't doing their part? Giving us a place just so we can keep abreast of the newest updates, ask USARK questions and keep our efforts consolidated isn't stepping up?

Seems more important than this poll that isn't even used by Congress.

Link to USARK's spot

I had been on cornsnakes.com for several hours before I saw the black bold small font on a thin bright red line (link) to this forum. I do not visually perceive black lettering against a red background very well. Perhaps if the font size was a couple of points larger, and red against a black background, more persons would be able to see it. I have worked at a school for blind and visually impaired persons for well over a decade. Thank you for raising awareness in the herp community to this bill. Warm Regards, dave partington

S373

I voted a while back but recently decided it was not enough, so I wrote a letter to the Senator..

Sen Nelson

My name is John Craft, I am a reptile enthusiast that has spent the last 22 years in the Military defending the freedoms we have today. To be honest with you I very rairly speak to argue a political position. I have always prided myself in that I do not pick sides during elections, I want the freedom of picking the right person to represent the people. With the Socialist actions, I have seen from the government since the Demacrates took over its obvious to see that your polital group is not protecting our freedoms...I now find myself forced to take a position to protect the freedoms that I defend.

I personnally very much disagree with the Amendment that you have intoduced to the house. S373 will cripple a billion dollar a year industry, of which a large portion resides in your state. I have a small business Emerald Coast Exotics, that has been subsidizing my income for many of years, the extra money is currently paying for my childrens college. If you pass bill S373, it will have a devestating effect nation wide..we cannot afford to eliminate any more jobs in America!!!

In regards to the everglades..The rules and regulation are already in effect to control the invasive reptiles that were turned loose...allow time for the new laws to fully take effect and continue the erradification of the burmese python... A few wrongs throughout the years does not justify creating a admendment to outlaw Pythons/Boas..

Please withdraw the Admendment and allow the nation to keep its freedoms.

This is not a Goverment website!

Is this a scam? This thread makes you think your voting on a Goverment Website it looks like one but this is not a Gov web site. Once you are there they ask you to register. Are they trying to steel information?

I don't trust this, who ever posted this is not beling open about what this is.

If Fauna did post this then shame on you. I don't think I can trust your website anymore.

Then don't let the door hit you on your way out.

No one said it was a government website. It's just a site to track various legislation, including stuff that has (gasp) nothing to do with reptiles, and will help people find/contact their state representatives.

S373

I sent a e-mail to Sen Nelson (FL) this was his response.

Dear Mr. Craft:

Thank you for writing me about S. 373, a bill I introduced that would ban the importation and trade between States of the Burmese python.

Burmese pythons often are released into the wild when their owners can no longer care for them. Though not native to south Florida, Burmese pythons are thriving in the Everglades National Park, threatening natural species, many of which are endangered, and posing the risk of upsetting the delicate ecosystem of the region. We have invested many years and billions of dollars in an effort to restore the Everglades to its natural balance, and non-native species like Burmese pythons threaten to undo that work.

I understand your concern that my bill would punish responsible python owners. My bill will not take away existing pythons from owners. The State of Florida has made progress recently in balancing the needs of pet owners and the concerns for the environment by requiring micro-chipping and permits for reptiles of concern, including the Burmese python. My bill would serve as a Federal companion to help stop the expanding population of large constrictor snakes in the wild.

During a committee review of S. 373, the bill was amended to cover nine constrictor species deemed high or medium risk by a recent U.S. Geological Service report.

I appreciate your taking the time to write me with your views on this important matter. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future.

Sincerely,
Senator Bill Nelson

This is probably a generic response in regards to s373.. I drafted another e-mail tonight and will keep sending them until he gets tierd of hearing from me.. I highly recommend everyone else follows suit. Remember he is a senator so give him the resect he deserves no matter how angry you are..

Sen Nelson

Thank you for writing me back, after reading the e-mail I felt that it was very generic and was a mass e-mail sent out to all addressing S373. The e-mail did however enlighten me to your reptile concerns.. Why add the species to the lacy act, according to multiple reputable researchers the pythons will not be able to live past central FL. If you use the US Geo report on gloobal warming its not going to matter because FL will be under water..

Most of the reptile nation feels that it was correct for the state of FL to develope rules for owning large constrictors. People need to be aware of the responsibility that goes along with these great creatures.. Using the Lacy Act as a tool to limit python ownership is wrong..

The Democratic government is going to cripple a 3 billion dollar industry, you will put 1000's of people out of work with a stroke of the pen. I understand that you are not making it illegal to own a boa or python but to people that make a living working with these species everything they own will be deamed valueless overnight. I did not even address the industry that make's caging, water bowls, lighting, ect...

Care to address ferral hogs, parrots, large cats or any other animal aslo classified as a invasive species..

Consider this, to date I spent 22 years serving my country and protecting your freedoms all while you are taking mine. It will be just a few short years and I will be a criminal because I chose to keep a Boa contrictor and had to relocate to another state in defence of our nation.

Sarcastically, thank you for defending my freedoms..

Respectfully
John Craft
