In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Calling all indigo keepers...

The following was posted there, at about o8:45 hrs today, lets see how long it lasts.

Dear Moderator,
We have seen things disapeer from here but we do not understand why. These were things which directly related to matters of indigo conservation and or research. Are we to understand that the powers that be of this website are against indigo conservation and research? These posts had nothing distatseful, nothing disrespectful, and nothing in them, that we could see which would be in violation of the TOS. We have read it, but do not see the problem. If you are going to pull things like that, it would be greatly appreciated if you would simutaineously give us an explanation as to why these posts are being pulled. We'd like to know how to post valuable information without having it disapeer, without explanation,... into cyberspace. Tell us what we did wrong, so we can make adjustments, and our posts will stay put,...please. Thank you,
The people who use this forum.

i asked and was ignored

i asked very politely if they would explain to me why posts regarding indigo genetics are being dinged. that message was removed and i have received no explanation. i'm guessing that for reasons well beyond my comprehension (and i'm not quite as dumb as i look), i'm about to meet tony's fate :uzi:

i'm fine with discussing genetics here, but other forums over at KS talk about hets, recessives, crosses, and hybrids -- that's freakin genetics!

or do any of you think that soliciting the mailing of shed skins is deemed some type of trade. should i try and solicit sheds in the classifieds -- they'd get money that way.

still stratch'n me head...

matt

This is exactly what I have been preaching about since the day I started this forum!!! This is exactly WHY I started this forum. The powers that be at kingsnake.com are just plain rotten! As far as I'm concerned, they are facists. The only way they might pull their heads out of their 4th point of contact, is if {ALL} of us STOP USING THAT FORUM< PERIOD!!! And I mean ALL OF US!!! Stop posting over there, stop reading over there, remove indigosnakes.com from their server, and stop supporting kingsuck.com all together. A complete BOYCOT by ALL drymatchon folks. When someone won't even explain themselves, you know they are up to no good. It's way past time to fight back! Send an e-mail to every dry guy you know, and invite them HERE to read all about it. Then stay away from the indigo forum at kingsuck.com They don't deserve our support!!!

Here's a copy of an e-mail I sent to ks.com

Hello,

I am not looking for trouble, but I was wondering if you could help shed some light on something.

There have been a few threads regarding genetic studies on the eastern indigo snake, a federally protected species that have been pulled from the indigo fourms.

Can you please explain why these threads are being pulled?

Thank you!

Eric East

I got a reply.

Here's what ks had to say....

The posts were pulled because they violated Terms of Service.

Since you were not the author of them, we will not discuss it any further.

Sincerely,

Now you know why I got 86ed!!!

That's exactly the kind of response I expected from my favorite person in the whole universe! That's precisely the way she treated me. Man, what a rotten way to treat folks!!! I think she is in DESPERATE need of,... use your imagination.

eric, i tried your tact...

but i apparently don't have your charm. :shrug01: i apologized for not knowing the rules against "scientific solicitation" and asked politely if we could solicit shed skins on the KS.com forum.

...DEAD SILENCE...

i have gone to PARC with a request for skins and i remind everyone here to keep those skin samples coming. the school term starts next week and our molecular biology class will be doing their lab on the specimens we've received so far. WE NEED MORE!

thanks,

matt

i shower everyday...

so i know it's not that.

i'm going to try contacting individuals off the indigosnakes.com website list of breeders to see if any of them are willing. some may fear that the findings will not place their stock in genetically favorable light. this is the downside of trying to get a god estimate. with enough people divulging the source of their breeders we may be able to form pedigrees anyway.

matt

contacting them off list sounds like a good idea. I'm sure most will help.
There may be some who baulk, but if they love these animals as much as they say they do they should want to know as much as possible about them, including their lineage.

I'll have a couple of sheds for you soon, my pair are both in the blue right now.

Eric

Hai Matt,

I think its a good and interesting project for looking at the genetic variation of captive populations.
I want to contribute also, but i wonder.........are you also interested in skins of my Drymarchon Couperis??
I ask this because i life in the Netherlands.
If you are interested, i gladly will send them.

Matt
I'd like to contribute to your project as well, I have a Texas Indigo who should be peeling in the next few days-would you be interested in his shed? I also have 2 yearling Easterns & a 4 year old Uni I could also provide you some samples from. I believe your address is somewhere in this thread & I will locate it accordingly. I saw it in your post on KS this morning & went back to grab it however it appears you violated the ridiculous TOS terms-what a joke!

i have been blocked from participation at KS.com

as my wife just said, "it's just snakes!" and i have to agree.

oh well, i sort of knew if i pressured them with that last post (a copy of the message i sent the moderators) and said i was stiil awaiting their response, it might get me in the slammer. :bawling:

johanna and william -- yes i would like sheds from europe and sheds from other Dry species -- it all helps. anything you know about their origin (breeder and year hatched) will go into the database to help us sort and group in a variety of ways.

we're getting good responses now, including offers of wild-collected skins to throw into the mix. this is going to get expensive, but i'm hopeful that it will be informative as well. maybe a beginning of a breeders' registry, stud book, etc.

thanks to all,

matt (just another KS.com outlaw)

My female Couperi will peeling in a few days, i send hers.
My male Couperi has already shed last week but wen he peels again, i Will send this also.
I am glad that i can contribute also something to this project.

Just for a good sending from the Netherlands:(perhaps a stupid question for you) but what means MN?

Greetings, Johanna.

Hi,
I write from italy, I'll be happy to send you sheds of my adult pair, male is now in blue.
You need also sheds from sons of the adult pair?
I'll try to find other Drys owners here in Italy .
Ciao
Nazzza
PS
Itam who is the breeder of your indigo?

excellent!

hi nazzza,

yes, i'd like to run your snakes. we may not be able to tell if they are full sibs or not, but we should be able to tell you whether they came from the same maternal line.

make sure the skin is as clean as possible.

thanks for your interest.

matt
