• Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    Addendum: 01/10/2026
    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Beware of Calvin Lenderman of Cypress Texas. Calvin advertises Ball Pythons on Reptibid that he does not own. He only accepts cashiers checks and never ships the reptiles. He has ripped off numerous people involving hundreds of dollars. He father, Calvin Lenderman, Sr., is completely aware of the scam. If you have been taken by Calvin please file a complaint with the FBI's Internet Fraud Division. The more filing the more of a chance that he will be charged with fraud.

Sure seems like ReptiBid has become a cesspool for this kind of scum. From what I've read, they aren't very receptive to customer complaints and seem perfectly content allowing this kind of garbage to go on.
I would use extreme caution when buying anything from that site.

Chris,
You are correct. I sent reptibid numerous emails and could not even get a response. Really the same thing at Kingsnake.com.
At least Fauna gives you a chance to warn others.
Thanks for the post.

I have heard from quite a few people that rip offs run rampant on that site and that they don't take any action against scammers. A friend of mine was scammed by someone using that site and despite many e-mails he never recieved an answer and the ad continued to run, and more people were taken adavntage of. I won't use a site like that, and will not even visit it. Each "HIT tey recieve helps them sell advertising....less hits = less profit.

I have also qiut using another popular site initials (KS), and will not until the owner drops his SILLY lawsuit against Rich Z. I do not know Rich, but I look at KS as another place where numerous scammers operate, and the majority of the items listed in the classified section are overpriced....and the same sellers list the same animals over and over and over and over again either until they actually sell them, they die, or get tired of relisting them over and over and over and over and over again. AGAIN LESS "HITS"= LESS PROFITS!

They don't make much $$ off advertising anyway, since to sell there costs you the seller $0.

It sure has. I used to have it bookmarked, but not anymore. I used it last to buy some heatpacks, but will never use it for anymore animals.

repti-bid

Hold on now...
Not everyone that sells on that site is crooked.
We have sold several animals on that site, and have i think 15 good feedbacks..
I personally have had only one problem with a BUYER on Repti-Bid, and the Webmaster was more than willing to fix the problem.
He replyed to each and every email I sent him, and consequently banned this person from using his site..
I think it is a good place to sell. I do think they are sometimes un-organized, but most of the time, i have been very pleased..

In 2-3 months, we have sold more animals on that site than we sold on Kingsnake in the past 6 months, hence the reason for not re-newing our account with KS!!!

By "HITS" and selling advertising, I'm talking about banner ads and web hosting. If they can boast that they are getting a gazillion visits to the site it makes it easier to sell. If I told you I had 200,000 people a day visit my site would you be more inclined to pay for banner ads or let me host your site, how about 200 people a day would you. I understand he charges to list there.

My friend got ripped off for over $3000.00 dollars by someone that had an ad on REPTIBID and they DID NOT reply to ANY of his e-mails, nor did they stop the con artists from listing and taking other peoples money. The only help he was able to get was from the local Sheriffs office where the low life lived. I'm sure there are some legitimate sellers there, but I've heard too many complaints about the site to bother with it.

Beware of reptibid

I have made two purchases from Reptibid sellers and have been ripped off twice..........2 for 2........

One was from the Calvin Lenderman Kid.........thank God I got a stop check on my money order in time.........whooooo weeee

The other one I will choose at this point to leave nameless.....but am totally unhappy. Sold me a CH female that ended up being a wild caught with ticks!.................argh!

You live and learn.........

In total fairness.........the problem is not Reptibid.......it's dishonest individuals who do not have some credibility on the line. They are not accountable. Just be careful folks. Fauna seems solid and Kingsnake seems fairly solid.......but I have some bad memories from Reptibid.....what can I say.

Certainly, I am only one opinion......and I hope for my two bad experiences there are 10 good success stories.........it just has not happened to me.

Jim

I do agree that there are dishonest people everywhere.. I have read about some horror stories from people who have purchased animals on THIS SITE, as well as kingsnake, and as well as repti-bid..
I think repti-bid CAN be one of the most powerful sites for selling reptiles. They need to fine tune it a bit, but i think it could be a good resource.
I am sorry some of you have had bad experiances, and those people need to banned from any and all sites, however, there are some good sellers on that site.
It is a shame that you have to pick through to find out who is good, but they are out there.
