    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

CAN ANYONE IDENDIFY THIS GTP?

Hello, My name is Nevin Haggard and was given a GTP as a gift last Christmas. I got her from a family member that got her from a pet store that didn't know much about her. They told me it was a female but I am not sure of that. After doing some research, I would like to know what kind of GTP that she/he is. I am not sure if you can just look at them and tell but she should be around 2 - 21/2 years old now, about 3 feet long, and as you can see she is still bright yellow with no sign of green scales. She is also extremely tame and doesn't mind being handled at all. I am wondering if I maybe have got a rare Kofiau species or if she is just going to take longer to turn green. I happen to like the yellow a lot and just would like to know what I was dealing with. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I know a lot about Panther Chameleons but not much about these GTP's. Thanks again.

Probably not a Canary if your friend got it in a pet store. Too early to tell but realisitcally even after it has gone through it's color change you'll only be able to say it looks like "x" local "type". Like an Aru type or Biak type.

It looks typical of a Kaufia, but it is still small and has plenty of time for change. I would guess it's weight to be around 150-200 grams, so if it looks the same at around 600-700 you have a pretty good chance of it keeping it's color as an adult. As Matt said, it is hard to say what it is, but just because it came from a pet store doesn't mean it is not a Kaufia. Good luck.

I have Several GTP'S, I would say that she would most likely be a Biak, But if she has never given any attitude that would probably rule that out.

Yellow Biak types have a very random baby pattern. The head is also a little short to be biak. I would still guess Kaufia or possibly Sorong....two locales that look very similar even after both change to green. Both locales tend to be very calm and easy to handle. But again, who knows. I would rule out biak by appearance.

Thanks for your input guys. She is still bright yellow and very calm which I guess is the most important part no matter what she is. I will have to see what she looks like in another year or so. Thanks again.
