    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Can it live??

The back story here is the last time I went to the Pet Store which is Pet Co I was looking at their baby Geckos. Leopard Geckos. One of the poor babies had shed skin all over his feet and absolutely no toes, just a stump. I had to look away and go else where because I almost vomited right there. Shed skin is one thing but NO toes...ugh, just makes me sick! So seeing that made me think of this question. Can a Gecko live with no toes? I'm sure it could still eat out of a Mealworm dish and Gex eats out of our hands like many Geckos come to do. What are you guys thoughts on this? I have to go back and if I see him there I am going OFF!! I didn't the first time out of pure shock and horror but next time they won't be so lucky. I really wanted to bring him home. The image is now hoovering in my head and haunting me. :ack2:

Yes, I can. I have seen it a few times before. It doesn't surprise me, really, petco, petsmart and the other main branches aren't world renowned for their care of herps. If I had a nickle for every horror story, including my own, I'd be a millionaire!

If you do, put him in warm water up to his feed. Get a damp Q-tip and get all the shed skin off. Anyone can feel free to add on to that. He'll probably need a fecal test, too, for parasites.

This may sound heartless for the poor reptile stuck in that situation. However, funding the turn-key reptile dealers pockets will only provide the funds for more abusive situations. Many retails rely on the animal looking poor so you will buy it out of sympathy. This would just sentence alot more future reptiles to the same horrible lifes or deaths.

If there is no profit, they will not invest in more reptiles. There is only one way to stop turn-key reptile dealers and that is not to give them your money.

On the other side, if you offer to take the animal for free to save it's life and they give it to you, for the good of the animal some education with the store manager will be more productive to the herp community than another activist ranting in their store.

just my opinion,

There are too many healthy leos avaliable from good stores and breeders to warrent the support of stores and dealers that take poor care of their animals. :ack2:
