    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Can my snake get MRSA from me?

I'm currently going through a heavy-duty course of sulfa drugs do to a nasty skin infection that has been confirmed by my dermatologist to be MRSA. Right now I'm doing my best to avoid contact with all my pets, but I'm specifically worried about my snakes. Could I accidentally pass MRSA to them? I'm afraid to have any contact until I know. Obviously I shouldn't handle that, but is it safe for me to change the water and clean the cage? What about the F/T food, can I touch that? Or will someone else have to do all the work until I'm done with the antibiotics?

If any vet has an answer, please help.
 
Reverse zoonotic (human to animal) spread of MRSA is possible. It's probably a good idea to have someone else care for your pets while you are being treated. If that's not possible, keep the wound covered and avoid any unnecessary contact. Gloves are a good idea as well.

Okay. Good thing my mom likes snakes as much as I do. She won't have a problem with caring for my snakes for a bit. Thank you for your reply.
