In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

NICE pics but don't give all the credit to the camera. YOU got those shots
Give me the same camera and I'd end up with out of focus, poorly lit pics because I can't take a photo to save my life.

I bought an Xti about 3 months ago & love it!
You're right. The stock lens isn't as bad as the reviews it gets.
I did buy a macro lens for extreme closeups and, while it is better than the stock lens, I'm glad I didn't fork out big money on any other higher-end lenses.
I can't wait for the newborns to start dropping...I'll finally be able to get some good baby pics.

With mine, I'm finally able to get some good aquarium pics.
Cat pics too.

i LOVE those pics! and hey, that macro isnt half bad at all!

Ive been looking to get a macro lens, but im thinking a nice BIG zoom would be better, at least for now. I seem to want to take more photos from far away, than i do up close. And my whale pics would have been a HUNDRED times better if i had a nice zoom!

I was up in Gloucester, MA doing some fishing a couple of weeks ago & we came close to an enormous pod(or pods) of dolphins & some whales too. A telephoto would have been huge right then!!!
A good zoom will be my next camera purchase. I had the opportunity to try out the 75-300 USM telephoto & thought it was pretty good. I'll have to do more research though.
Yeah, if you saw that closeup of the ghost SF I posted in the rosy section yesterday, that was the macro. The EF 50mm.

Moo, I have the zoom lens, if you get the wide close up we could trade! :) I want more close ups and the cam with the ESF18-55 mm just isn't letting me get as close as I want. The zoom lens for far away shots is the long one (it's in the basement and I am too lazy to go get it and check the size. lol

What settings exactly do you have your cam on to get those clear shots?

everything is generally on Auto. And then just playing with the distances that the camera is able to take a picture at. ( usually a couple of inches away from the subject)

Other than that... i really dont mess with anything. :shrug01:
