    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Can't seem to reply in my own threads...

It is free to advertise here, and bumps have always been a perk of paid membership - well, at least since I joined in 2004. Over time, the "free bump" took over. What you seem to be missing is that this IS a free site, and that there are perks for membership. If somebody doesn't want those perks, then they don't have to pay; but that doesn't mean that they will just be given those things for free. If an advertiser doesn't want to contribute, then they can just delete and repost their ad(s). It really doesn't take that long, except for adding the pictures - it's pretty much a copy/paste.

Fishy??? That a man would actually wish to earn some money for the work he puts into maintaining this site so you CAN use it for FREE? :rolleyes: Puhlease...

I get so very tired of folks who seem to feel they are entitled to a free ride. :angry: This site and everything associated with it is a privilege to those that use it....not some right given by either God or the founding fathers. :NoNo:

Well then now i guess the smartest marketing a private person can do is buy a membership so they can continue to bump their ads. Nobody said you can't continue to post your ads for free though. Most other classifieds that have high traffic charge a fee for you to post ads period, not just bump them. We just sold my girlfriends old car and most of the places we posted ads were way more than $25 to post that single ad for either a few weeks, or months. You can still post as many ads for free now as you want. And there is a search feature here so it's not like if your not on the first page nobody will ever see your ad. If you feel like you have to be on the front page then for $25 for then entire year, you can bump one single ad every single day. If you make 1 single sale, it should more than justify your membership. I don't see what everybody is getting so upset about here. Money makes the world go around, and there just aren't too many people that are willing to work for free. Besides just the classifieds section Rich has also provided us with the BOI which i can't speak for everyone, but i KNOW the BOI has saved me way more than $25 by avoiding a transaction with a known bad guy or two. I don't think he's asking to much here. It's not like he's forcing everybody to pay to even post an ad. But if you want to keep your ad on the first page i really don't think $25 per YEAR is too much to ask. If that's' still good enough, i believe it was pointed out that for $50 you can have your banner stuck at the top of that classifieds section for the entire year as well.

Im tired of seeing this thread pop up on my control panel with a bunch of ppl whining, while im waiting for the important stuff like tweaks or infractions that may come from this.

Ya'll better hope a new infraction doesnt come up for whining cuz alot of u will be banned from the site within a week!:rofl:

Just want to give a thumbs up to the adjustment that does not allow bumping by reply without someone else posting to your ad first.

I do have a question though. If someone request pics in a pm without posting a reply your ad, is there a way to send the pics by pm since you cannot post them on your ad if you already have 4 pics on it and you have not had a reply to your ad?

I am glad to deal with these changes since it keeps my ad from being pushed to page 4 in 8 hours by a bunch of bumps that almost equate spamming.

You can upload the pics to a site like photobucket...then use the

kingsnake isn't free. it is a paid posting on their classifieds.

Many forums will limit bumping by ad posters only to just 2-3 without others being allowed to post on the ad.

I like the 1 bump a 24 hours, though.

Well if u become a contributing member u can bump one classified every 24 hours.
 
Oh btw Rich is the Participant level coming back, and will it be the same perks as before or are those being altered as well?

What about forums who allow this for free? There are ads on this site that help generate revenue. This is just like the ads on other forums that allow posting and bumping for free. Restrictions are just posted so that only so many bumps are allowed, and only so many posts are allowed a day.
