In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I noticed that some people put up ads for caramels and some say caramel albinos. Now I 've seen the same person listing 2 different animals and calling one a caramel and one a caramel albino. Now I know that there are different lines out there but after checking out WOBP I see that a few of the caramels listed on here don't look like any of the caramel albinos. Is there a difference at all because as far as I've been able to see there is no "caramel" morph in itself. Hopefully you all get what I'm asking here.

I have come across this, I did a trade deal with someone and he kept telling me caramel het clown. Well he was interested in what I had (cant remember what now) and I figured why not, I am getting a heck of a deal. When I met up with him, it was not what I was expecting, I was expecting Caramel Albino. What I was looking at was a normal with a reduced and cleaner pattern, possibly a little lighter. He told me it came from Pro Exotics and that is what they called it. I couldnt find any info on it myself at the time either. So I just think its a nicer cleaner normal, I havent been able to find anything that states that "caramel" is a morph in itself.

Caramels

Caramels and Caramel Albinos are one and the same. It is known as T+ Albinism whereas the yellow and white snakes are called Albinos and are T- albinos. There is a wide variation in color and quality of Caramels, just like any other morph, maybe even more so like Pastels. I have a Caramel that even as a 300 gram adult will knock your socks off.

Currect, but what I was talking about is what I thought the OP was seeing. I have seen at least one person claim a snake caramel (although they may have been talking about the color?) that wasn't a T+.

You have heard about female breeding issues, right?

I hope so...

You have heard about female breeding issues, right?

I did read a lot about them. I got a great deal on a female almost 1400g and kink free as far as anyone can tell. Had 3 different people check her besides myself and she looks good. Won't be breeding her till next season so I'm just hoping for the best. Guess we'll see what happens.

Not kinks, massive amounts of slugs vs. good eggs.

Anyhow, good luck.

Yea, I saw about that too. I know people that had great clutches and some that came out all slugs. The only way to tell is to breed her next season and see what happens. Just want to add a little more size to her. Plus I have a bunch of het caramels too so should at least get some good eggs out of them!

Regular Albino females at one time also had productivity issues. I have taken pains to out breed with 3 different strains of Albino in the hopes of producing homozygous girls who won't slug out. I'll know next year if all the time & work has paid off.

Recessive are genes initially line-bred more to prove out the trait & while this can re-enforce good traits it also brings out weaknesses. As we out breed this should help especially if we are working from a wider group of unrelated WC T+ animals.

I had never heard about issues with regular albino females (of course I was many years into my caramel project before I heard about either issue with that gene). Was it slugs? I'm hoping for eggs from my first albino girl this year ...

Hey Randy,
I think I may have shared with you that Albinos was my 1st morph. So this was right at 2001-2002 & I was using a het pair initially. I had mentioned to folks about my goal of ultimately breeding a homozygous pair. It was strongly recommended that I use homozygous male to het females. At that time we still were mostly all Clark strain Albinos out there... and since then we've had other breeders bring in other WC Albinos.

From what I gathered back then, it was slug issues & smaller clutches.
