In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Can anyone direct me to some sites that explain exactly what the kinking is? Spinal deformity? The genetics of it, if any is known? I'd like to understand exactly what I'm getting into, with caramel and spider being my two favorite morphs, and that I'm trying to get several of both. Have a little spider here with no wobble YET, but I'd like to understand that a little better too. I know dogs and dog breeding, but ataxia and kink tails don't seem to be quite the same thing as what these snakes are prone to. Any info? Thanks!

If you're going to work with spiders, you're going to experience wobbling to some degree. I was extremely careful when I bought my spiders not to get any that wobbled. As adults, they still show no signs of wobble. I bred the male to several normal females last season and some of the babies wobble. They still eat fine and are doing well, some of them just wobble. I used to be paranoid about spiders and wobbling but now I believe it to be no big deal, as long as they're doing well otherwise.

Sorry but I can't be of any help on the Caramel/kinking issue. There is a line of Caramels that don't kink though, I just can't remember the name. I'm sure somebody will chime in with it.

Crider may be the non kinking line you're thinking of, though they have been proven not to be caramels. Just look a lot like them.

It seems that a lot of the caramels kinking issues might be more temperature related than previously thought. I have talked to several breeders that have lowered their incubation temperatures to 86-87 and consistently hatch out kink free caramels.

You might have just saved me a ton of grief with that post!
