He has an '05 male pastel BP, an 06 female pastel BP, RTB's, and some colubrids to trade.

I don't think I will do it though. He wants above retail in trade value for his animals but well below retail in trade value for mine.

I know Casey very well. Over the past 6 months or so I have spent several thousands of dollars worth of cash (not counting endless trades I have done with him) We have become really good friends and I see him AT LEAST every 2weeks but for the most part every weekend I am at his house checking out everyone of his animals. His animals are extremely healthy and are of the highest quality there is. Matter a fact I was in Norman yesterday and was checking out and holding several of his Ball Pythons, retics, burms and a bunch of other. His business ethics are some of the best in the business. Basically what I am saying is if Casey says it then you can bet your life its the truth and if you are buying from him then I personally guarantee that you are getting the highest quality animal with the best business relation you can possible get. Actually I had a purchase from him.. I bid at auction for a male pastel sibling. First let me state that I am a complete novice so I really didn't get the diffrence. But the low price should have been the key. Anyways let us look past my lack of experience as that is not my real issue....

I recieved the snake via DHL My wife found it on the doorstep by accident. The snake was packed in a simple box no insulation no heat nothing save a wet papertowel .. The snake smelled horrible and was coated in hard crusty fecal matter. I removed him immediately and placed him in a small tub to isolate him. He was very cold and did not move for several hours I thought at first it was dead.. He is very thin to me not being a pro with ball pythons. There are several loose folds of skin on his Back.. As a wildlife rehaber I would say he is malnourished or dehydrated. He did take fluids in the form of water. I will wait a day before I feed him...

I will admit again that I thought I was getting a male pastel... In several emails back and forth There was never any correction of my miseducation and for that I am at fault.. He did sell me a Male Pastel Sibling But anyone else may have gotten sucked in with the vague ad. And to boot there was never any pictures of the actual animal sent.. Only the Sire and the Pastel sibbling.. So here again my miseducation got me But the fact remains that he is selling snakes and shows no compassion for their well being... Imagine what would happen if it were a high end morph. Again speculation but my money says he shows the same lack of concern for the snake... This is my only dealing with Casey Ritch.. I will stick to breeders that care for their animals.. The whole sale which would have been fair for a healthy more presentable ball python was conducted Via paypal.. I am still unsure who's paypal it is though.. It is not his nor did he understand how paypal worked.... So at the expense of a harmless creature I learned a valuable lesson.. Know without question what you are buying and Then double check what you are buying LOL

john zalewski is a complete idiot. he's only bad mouthing me due his own error.he is a novice he is just mad because he didn't know the difference between a sibling and a pastel i always ship in a styrafoam insolated box with heat/cool pack when advised about their weather wich he did not.anyone can bad mouth someone on the internet i'm just sayin i'm not new in this business just kept it private and just decided sell to other people and this shit happens. anybody can say whatever they want about me i don't care, but when people are just mad because their an idoit does'nt give them the right to tell people that i don't take care of my animals. if anyone has any questions about me email me [email protected]

I find it very hard to believe that you had a bad dealing with Casey. I am not saying you didn't but I just can't seem to believe that. Casey takes extreme care of each and every animal in his possesion. As for you thinking you were getting a Pastel when acctully you were getting a Pastel sibling, thats your own fault. You should have asked questions and cleared up any confusion you may have had before the purchase. Like I said before, I have spent loads of money with him and countless trades and have not been disappointed yet. I have had him ship dozens of snakes for me both venomous and non-venomous to my customers and nobody has ever had a problem with him or the way he ships. You said your wife found the snake on the doorstep by accident, well that too is your own fault. You should have been prepared for the delivery. Ever think that the dry fecal matter and him being cold and dehydrated could have happened while the snake was sitting on the doorstep waiting for you to get him out of the box??? What kind of idiott doesn't know when he is recieving the snake and doesn't have arrangments for the snake to be cared for once it is dropped off. The way I see it is this is all your fault. Every one of the problems you listed could have been avoided if you would have been responsible enough and had arrangments for the package.

Yet nothing at all till I mentioned the fauna classifieds to him... Them low and behold you are his best friend and spend thousands with him.. Which where in the heck does a 16 year old get thousands from.. But that is besides the point.... Casey is just mad cause he is a fraud and tried to make a fast buck at some one elses expense... I graduated Pampa High at the age of 15 and am now in my second year of College at West Texas A&M University located in Canyon, Tx. I am working towards a degree in both Biology and Zoology so I know what I am talking about. N00b, or not, if you even know what a pastel is, you know that 80.00 is not the price of one.

Do you have a photo of the box that was shipped, and a photo of the snake?

The fact that Casey had the email with a subject of "Pastel Male" and did not include a picture of the actual animal sold doesn't sit well with me. If you are selling an animal by using images of another animal, you need to be very clear that the animal you are selling is very much normal looking or a het or whatever. Otherwise, people can think you are lying.
A misunderstanding is bad enough without an animal being shipped in poor condition. not that I'm taking sides - a shipping label and some pics of the snake after it was recieved would help rectify the situation.
Also, the fact that a Reputable Breeder has to call a new snake buyer "an idiot" is really discouraging. I do not do bussiness with people who are just plain rude when the situation only calls for them to tell their side of the story, no matter how good their methods and results are. Sure, newbies can make stupid mistakes, but that doesn't give anyone who has more experience to call them stupid, none of us popped into this world with an innate understanding of snakes, we've all made stupid mistakes and assumed things when we didn't know any better.

I have already hydrated the snake and bathed him so pictures will prove worthless here. I will submit the box and the contents as I recieved. I have also been told by Dhl That he doesn't have an account to ship snakes.. As clearly noted on the pictures that will follow the box was plainly marked fragile only.. The never knew there was an animal in the box or it would have never been left on my doorstep on a busy street. The tracking # that he gave me 33962196844 go to the site and check it out.. Its 2nd day shipping not overnite as he told me.. Again its not a big deal anymore to me as I will take things to a legal level.. Is this worth the money you might ask well now it is because he is totally breaking the law and the good thing is DHL is so kind to give me all the Accurate shipping information on the sender and the details as the sender see's them

The only reason they haven't posted here is they don't want to be in this whole mess and I don't appriciate being called a minor the way you used it SIR. And so everyone here knows I have never used any of Casey's shipping accounts. As of right now both of out business are seperate and it will stay that way until I know for sure that I am going to OU. Also SIR I have my OWN shipping accounts with DHL, Ups and FedEx and you know what, none of them have a problem with me being a minor (matter a fact I am on a first name basis with everyone locally that works for these companies and still none of them have a problem taking a package from me) so why, when it comes to me buying snakes from Casey, does me being a minor have anything to do with this. Most would take pictures of the animal the moment the received it if it was in poor condition.

As I have stated the ad was for a pastel male sibling I didn't know there was a diffrence nobody bid so I did then a bidding war kinda started so I thought it may be a real thing.. He never sent any pictures of the exact snake just a male pastel and a female pastel also called a sibling like I said I was kinda tickled not knowing the diffrence in sibling the way he worded it in the ad and then again in future emails.. Thats my bad I know but still the whole thing is bogus all he had to do was say hey lets make this right Pictures will Follow.. And to defend him here a bit to be fair the DHL lable does say next day but is listed on the website as 2day
